That is for the low washer fluid sensor.

No, you cannot just purchase the sensor, install it in the tank, and magically get the warning light. Ask me how I know.

Well, since you asked.... I bought the sensor and then found out that North American Tacomas don't have the light in
    their dashboards! Awesome eh?

Anyone want to buy a low washer fluid sensor? o_O:D

I would take the TPMS over the useless windshield washer sensor anyday. Thanks canada.

You don’t have TPMS up there? Didn’t know that.

Off road and pro comes with the sensors and it tells you the pressure in your dash.

The rest of models have no tpms at all. Canada does not require tpms on new vehicles. I was surprised as my 2007 archaic ranger came with one.

Anyone know what that extra wires in the background going into the back of the headlight assembly is?

I have H9 and H11 bulbs for high beam low beam
And some other bulb i haven’t looked at yet for turn signal, all in a plastic housing.

low beam is DRL and there wouldn’t be one or more ground wires into a plastic housing

Someone must know what these wires do.
They appear to go into the housing where from the front looks like a little area where light might reflect back into the headlight reflector.

I went and looked at a pic on eBay to jog my memory since I got rid of my stock halogens for OEM LED over 2 years ago. The 3 wires are for DRL, parking lamp, and ground.

Low beam is not DRL in this vehicle. DRL is the LED L shaped strip on the outer edges of each lamp. DRL is the bright mode, parking lamp is the dim mode that they switch to when headlights are on. This applies to TRD Offroad. TRD Sport, and starting in 2017, TRD Pro. Up until 2020 when LED became an option for OR/Sport and standard on Pro.

it’s pretty simple to figure out. You have a turn signal bulb, a low beam bulb, high beam bulb, side marker bulb, then the 3 wires. DRL, park, and ground are all the 3 wires can be. The ground wire out of those 3 is simply for the LED DRL/park strip. Every other bulb has its own ground on its own connector. So 5 total grounds to the housing.

Not a light in the dash, a warning message in the center screen between the gauges.

It’s a light on models without the multi-info display, it’s a message on the multi-info models. But vast majority have the multi-info, so I’m probably being pedantic.

I’m not sure if the non multi-info models will work if you hook up the circuits. I would imagine they do since the light is physically there on the circuit board. I know for sure the multi-info display models do not work in the USA. Been there, tried to do that as a test by jumpering the circuit. I don’t need the warning but it would be nice.

you can fit a gallon plus in that washer tank, cant you just check it at the first of the month instead of adding sensors and wires into the equation?

Imagine your driving on a slushy road, you have the defrost blowing hot air at the windshield to keep ice from forming. As your driving, the cars in front of you kick up slush that hits your windshield, that slush melts as it hits the hot glass leaving behind a thick salty film that blocks your view of the road. You have to hit your washer fluid every 2-3 minutes just to be able to see.

This is what people in the northern states deal with when there is snow on the roads, its common for some people to use up a gallon or more a week.

Now imagine your a average American car owner, you dont know anything about cars other than turn the key to make it start. Your not going to pop the hood to check for washer fluid every month. Cars are made for the masses, and the masses dont know anything about cars, so car companies put warning lights to tell you something needs attention.

Saying "cant you just check it at the first of the month" works for people who know even the most basic things about cars, but 95% of the population does not know anything about cars.

The same thing could be said about oil level lights, TPMS lights, fuel lights, door ajar lights, and the long list of other lights. But time has proven that people need and want those lights to tell them something is not right on their car.

Well, back then you had 3k mile oil changes, so your fluid levels all got checked every 1-2 months.
Cars now are setup to go 10k between oil changes, so for the average car owner, opening the hood is a once/twice a year event that a shop does.

But also, washer fluid level sensors have been around for over 40 years.
