    well gave my truck a good wash today, noticed after only 3 months all the paint came off mounting brackets and have started to rust,, wont waste my money on there products again,, guess ill have to get a can rustoleum and repaint the brackets,, sad you cant buy anything that last anymore.. cheap/cheap/cheap..

    The majority is under the truck and exposed to getting beaten on by rocks and what not. ANY brand of bar will have the same problem. Can't expect to bolt them on and forget about them with the expectation they will be pristine 5 years from now.

    I don't think he's asking for "pristine" after 5 years, but $400 bars shouldn't be chipped & rusty after 3 months. I've had $200 polished stainless nerf bars on trucks that look like "new" for years & years...

    Quite a difference between polished stainless and powdercoated steel. Stainless can rust as well, depends on the alloy mix.

    Either way, most people(including myself) wouldn't be happy spending $400 on steps, and seeing them "rusty" after 3 months...
