I am gonna catch flak for this but whatever. YOU ARE AN IDIOT DUDE. What youll trade you six month deployments on a FOB for a war in which tens of thousands will die. Hmmm maybe you have bagged to many KBR sandwiches and havent bagged enough buddies. Think before you open you mouth. You know what I would trade for the usual desert sands, peace, a chance to start a family and the abiliy never to have to kill another person due to their stupidity again. "Those who wish for war are fools who have never expeirced its horror or humainity" Feel free to neg rep me now

War is a bad thing. It is sad to see that now a days our country will so easily jump into it. The two wars we are fighting now are bad enough. 6,000 americans dead and who knows how many afghans, iraqis and pakistanis. a full scale war with a devoloped military would be even worse. During WWII, the 8th Air Force lost 26,000 airman in europe. That is more than the entire Marine Corps lost in the Pacific. I hope to never have to see a war like that in my life time.

    cabarbhab-

I agree with your comments above. War is a bad thing. Having fought in a war, and now a veteran of a war, I ask myself, does anyone really win? Its a killing machine on both sides with plenty of death and suffering to go around. Just some thoughts....by the way, thanks for your sevice.

Thanks for your comments...but I think to be technically and politically correct that would be the Army Air Corps lost 26,000 men....(Okay so I'm being picky)

china tolerates N. Korea b/c they are a buffer from S. korea which has U.S forces in it, if it was a unified Korea then We would have Military bases bordering China and they would not like that.

Now if N korea tries to fuck with our aircraft carrier that we are sending over...be ready for WWIII

^oh yeah... I was just discussing "what if" scenarios with some fellow officers and my National Security Decision making professor... and we concluded that for the most any direct attack upon the USS GW will result in significant military operations.

But the likelihood of that happening is extremely low, this is just another posturing attempt by NK to gain more concessions from SK and the West.

This has been there tactic since the beginning of the Korean War... mainly due to the fact that the UN, NATO, and U.S want to constrain the type of war (limited vs total) conducted on the peninsula. This has allowed NK to operate free of military reprisal for the last 60 years
