Well price won’t get any lower, and supplies are almost out on those too. I’m days away from being out of stock on HKEY and the smart module. Price will go up next week back to regular...weigh that against the competion that charges $50 more plus shipping. You’re getting the same device, and phone lines open for support anytime you feel like calling, including Saturday & Sunday and that can’t be beat!

Retail on this 3g unit is $299, not that I would ever sell it for that much, but 50% discount off retail from an authorized reseller can’t be beat!

Absolutely. However, I do have a few of those left if you buy now. I’m down to a few. They take two weeks to come in (worst case), best case a week but either way, won’t be sale price. If you’re on the fence for one now versus a month, the difference is the sale price. And now that I have everything, everyone will get stuff anywhere from 1 to 3 days. I’m paying to upgrade everyone to priority regardless if they pay or not if they already bought hardware and want to add it. Anything purchased today can be in your hands by Monday at best, Wednesday the latest. Depends how far from CA you are. I can check your label for the last order and tell you exactly when it would come if ordered by 10am tomorrow...anyone wanting it after it’s gone will contend with waiting and paying full N2 price, or having me expedite one in, which will require me passing on freight charges from the factory to me. (I’ll still ship free). If I run out and you want one without waiting, and already bought sale priced hardware, I’ll honor sale price of whatever it is you want, but after adding freight charges, it will bring you back up to full N2 retail price (not market MSRP) so the only advantage there is you pay full price, but not wait two weeks or more for the same price. You just get it sooner. If you haven’t purchased hardware previously, you don’t get sale price at all. Now this is the catch, sale price is open to anyone regardless of pst purchase or NOT while supplies last.

I’ve been pinging the factory to see when a data file will be released, I’m hearing VERY soon. I’m sure I can program one for an 18 and it will work just fine but there are two things I’m not willing to assume responsibility for:

    1) should any pins on the same harness have been changed for ‘19, I don’t want to risk catastrophic control issues/failures that will lead in more heart ache than a $200 part is worth. Even if you’re within warranty, and it’s plug n play undetectable when removed prior to a warranty visit. Time is money and all of our time, including yours at the dealership unnecessarily, is valuable time wasted. I’m anal about those things. I wouldn’t risk my vehicle so I won’t risk yours.

    2) by putting a data file in the unit not labeled 2019, should any safety issue arise, I’m liable for selling it to you. I say this because the factory won’t stand behind me, and the NHTSA will have my a$$. Bear in mind, these are NHTSA (National Highway Transportation and Saftey) approved devices or else I wouldn’t be able to sell them in the USA. That’s why when people by Chinese knock off or off branded products from eBay, they assume the risk because you won’t be able to internationally hold the seller accountable. They play under different rules, and cheaper isn’t necessarily better. It’s not about profit for me. Saftey and your life comes first, and the sanctity of your new vehicle second. If I can check those two points off first comfortably, then business comes next.

I was going to check again on Monday for another member. Anyone selling the same brand as me marketed for a 19, is doing their own thing and hasn’t thought about this. How do I know? I stay on top of industry press releases for all brands. I check data bases for firmware files that SAY 2019. So far nothing. So anyone selling it now, is likely just putting 2018 files in there to get an edge on the sales. I’ll pass on profit and rather do it right. Stay in touch. PM me your name and cell and I’ll ping you Monday with info.

If you do have a 2019, PM and I will refer you to someone that has the product to sell you for 2019 at comparable prices. Trustworthy and I stand behind him and his knowledge, service and support!

kind of related/unrelated question. does anyone know if is it bad to leave the ac running when you turn the car off? the biggest benefit of a remote start for me in az, is to cool down the vehicle in the summer time.

is it better to turn the ac off, then turn the car off, then turn the ac knob to an on position so the ac is on when i remotely start the vehicle? or am i overthinking this?

I will notify everyone when it’s official. It shouldn’t be much longer. I like to be official and get my ducks in a row than profit. Again you and your vehicle saftey come first to me!

Not at all! That’s the whole point of this topic and device! I mean sure some want to warm up their engines, but most want a cool cabin in the summer prior to entry and toasty one during the winter. I think this is the main reason we’re all buying and installing these, me included! And even a plus when you have a wife and young kids, and already running late to everything! No more “well honey, we have to wait for the car to cool, (or warm)”. Now I get yelled at if I forget because I dug my grave, and she knows I have this “magical thingy majig” that can control my car. She doesn’t know it also has GPS, so I know when her a$$ is at the mall. I just ask “so honey, what did you buy today, answer wisely if you want our marriage to last”. It’s a catch 22.

And for those with teenage drivers, don’t even tell them. Just ground them when they come home just cause “you have a feeling they were up to no good”.

Everyone else who had an HKEY or HKEY with smart module or any non Tacoma vehicle has received a tracking number from the signups. Recent purchases will be packaged, and ship tomorrow. You will get a tracking number then.

You need to keep the door switch pressed in while the door is open, it will trick the truck into thinking the door is still shut. You will lose the functionality of those fancy led's you have that turn on when the door opens, but which is more important.
