I waited for Black Friday and purchased 2 starter kits and smart modules for my Taco and wife's Highlander. Installed with no problems, fairly easy. Getting the dash apart was the worst. Had trouble connecting to cell service with both modules. I just live in a dead zone. Weak signal even though the coverage maps show coverage, they lie. If I drive towards the towers it connects as it should.
Jimmy contacted me and is working on it. I am very happy with his service and product. It works where we need it to, just not in our drive.
Well worth the price! All available in my area were installed only priced at $500 and up!
    Thanks, Jimmy!

    Hi

It happened a couple of times again.
Apparently has to do with more than one door opening and closing.
Last time I let it run for about four minutes.
I saw the time counter in the app.
Shut it down with the app.

    Thanks

@N2DesignsInc does starting the engine via mobile app lock the doors as well? I leave my truck unlocked in the driveway and have come up to the truck locked unexpectedly a few times.

Question 2 - about the "Doors Locked", and "Doors Unlocked" status messages, how often do those get updated? If I lock the door from the truck (not fob) before closing door, should I expect the status to update?

Question 1 - Does starting the engine via mobile app lock the doors as well? Yes. If you left them unlocked, it will lock itself to protect your possessions as remote starting grabs attention in public. The app however, if it was left unlocked will not toggle color (only an aesthetic bug) to now reflect locked, but IT IS. If you're OCD like me, you can hit the lock button after remote starting on the app, and it will toggle the status to red "Locked" but you really just locked an already locked car.

It should, but that method is updated slower, to see it reflected in the app quicker, go to your GPS locate, then back to refresh it for example.

thanks! question 3 - (last one). leaving my office a few days ago, i opened the app and was presented with the usual screen. i pressed the remote start button and all the icons greyed out. the reception/battery was greyed out or had a question mark, something like that. does that generally mean the phone did not have service, or the vehicle, or something else?

Yup. Signing out, killing the app, and switching to Wi-Fi if you’re on cellular or vice versa then signing back in and doing a gps locate might wake it up but not guaranteed. The 3 bars at the top left then signal strength section may give you some info as it just might’ve been a temporarily fluke...this is not something you’ll always have to do either.

When the free 1 year of service is up do they send the new bill through the app or email?

App prompts you when approaching time to renew, in-app renewal. You'll get the option for $39.99 for 1-Year, or $99.99 for 3-Year (save $20).

Thanks Jimmy. Wanted to quickly update.

Super fast shipping and I'm on the other side of the country.

Local guys start at around $450 for one car so great price.

Great videos easy to follow and very easy install. As others said hardest part is putting the moulding back together after install.

I took my time and had fun doing this. I did the taco and my wife's Highlander in less than two hours. And I ate lunch in between installs......... its that easy.

Only things I would say to pay attention to is the light sequence when pairing the unit. Be ready to let go when it hits blue. I missed it first time. If you do just unplug and do it again. Easy!

It works fantastic and my wife is happy!

sorry to bug again, but this just doesnt seem to be working for me. i locked my truck from the inside this morning and many hours later, the app still says "door unlocked". is this typical or could there be something suspect about my devices?

Just remembered it doesn’t register manual locking because because most vehicles nowadays don’t let you so you don’t lock the keys inside the vehicle...broad statement yes, even if you can, it’s not watching manual locking because that’s not a “remote signal” that the module sees that would be coming from your fob for example. Your hardware is fine. I just checked on ours.

Use your fob to lock your vehicle, that arms the security system, manual locking does not.

thanks, so if I lock it via the fob, that event should be recorded in the app?

Ok, so not only is it new firmware, there is a minor tweak needed to be made to the harness...hoping to wrap this up by next week. Think I've cracked the code on this...but the betas aren't easy to come by. Mine Beta A works late with no daylight to work on it outside the shop after hours, and Beta B is in another state so there is a lead time of about 2-days to ship him stuff and then another day or two for him to free up time to test it. WE ARE ALMOST THERE!
