N2 Designs 2016-2022 Tacoma 3x OEM FOB Plug n Play Remote Starter Kit (AT & MT) + Smart Module

Hey Jimmy as far as you know have you heard of any issues with the N2 Designs remote starter after a prolonged dead battery incident? I am having trouble starting my truck period, and it seems like the N2 designs unit is not acknowledging my key FOB commands..

More info: Prolonged dead battery - so bad the locks and lights didn't even try. Had to open doors with key. Got a new battery, replaced it, the alarm went off, used the FOB to turn the alarm off and had one drive with no issues. Now everything shows power but the truck won't start. Tried clutch cancel mode as well as depressing the clutch. All electronics work as well. Tried re-programming the N2 designs remote starter twice and no change. When I hit lock three times I no longer get the confirmatory flash from the lights or an attempt to start.

I know this is a larger issue than the remote starter - but any thoughts? 2016 V6 Tacoma 6MT

fixed it. left it disconnected for about an hour. Came back and reconnected without opening the doors (left the hood slightly ajar). Let the truck do its thing for a second, opened the doors to get it started and it started right up.

I sold my Tacoma and before I did I removed the remote starter. I now have it in my garage and wanted to sell it but I wanted to get with you before I do to avoid any issues. I had the module so I can start my truck remotely via cell phone. Is there any unregistration I need to do? I don't sell something that is of no use (I.e. registered to me) to someone.

Yes you can sell it. I will PM you instructions on un-registering it.

 

Since it says plug and play I’m not sure why it takes 30 minutes to install. It would be nice for them to give the installation instructions on their web site.

 

It’s a 15-20 minute install because trim has to be removed (5 min), harness put in, module programmed (1-2 min), then everything tucked away (5 min give or take), trim put back on (5 min). Not everyone operates at the same speed. Some take their time, some work fast.

On our website, there is a resource/support tab that has all the document guides and video links but you need to create a login. Our YouTube channel is also available. And yes, for the 2020 also.

 

do these work with the tacomas with the puch button start? I don’t have a key just a smartkey fob, press the brake and push the start button on the dash

@N2DesignsInc I got an email notification about a new feature with the smart watch. What is the compatability? Does it work for both Android and Apple smart watch?

 

Currently only Apple iOS for the smart watch. The smart watch version for android is slated for release sometime soon I believe. However, I do not have an exact ETA other than I know it was being worked on a few months ago.

As far as app for SMART PHONE, this will work on both Apple iOS and Android and can be found in the Apple App Store or Google Play App Store.

No extra fobs. We don't sell any kits that REQUIRE extra fobs but if you want range to be extended, then there are options like the Long Range RF kit (1.5 mile range antenna/fob add-on) or the Smart Module (Worldwide Range optional add-on). Either can be added at anytime, even later. They both plug right into the remote starter and not your vehicle.

If you need to stick the key into the driver's door to unlock like some SR models and your key looks like this:



Then this is the kit (Click Here) you need because you don't have fobs, and need a pair. These fobs will lock, unlock, start and stop your engine from 1.5 mile range and have two way feedback to let you know commands made it from the fob to the vehicle or not.
