Yes. They sent me the following and this resolved my issue.:

“Then here it is to get you back up and running (do this to a tee and you’ll be up and running):

N2-EA Remote Start Module Hard Reset Procedure (ONLY IF YOUR 3X LOCK FROM FOB STOPS WORKING AFTER SMART MODULE INSTALL ATTEMPT OR ELSE SKIP TO LAST SECTION BELOW: “Resyncing Smart module”):

1.Unplug all the connectors going to the remote start (setting aside the smart module and it’s harness; pretend you never had it)

2.Make sure the car is completely off (if not sure, turn the car’s ignition (engine) on, then a few seconds later, off) – if the door chime is bothersome, then close the door, and open it.

3.Hold down the programming button on the remote start while inserting the 4-pin male datalink WITHOUT the tab and let go on RED by itself. If you let go too early, just unplug and re do. Make sure the housing for the datalink input that’s attached to the remote start isn’t getting or isn’t already pulled out. Give the housing a push down each time you go in and out of that input. The housing is the black frame that welcomes the data-link connector.

4.Then hold down the programming button indefinitely UNTIL the red light turns off (you’re still holding the button down), then several seconds later, all the colors will start cycling on their own. WHEN THEY START cycling, let go immediately. No need to hold down the whole time. They will cycle a few times and then turn off on their own. Once they are off, remove the 4-pin data-link and start the steps below on re-sync of the remote start, THEN the smart module when the remote start is confirmed functional and tested.

Resync N2-EA (ONLY AFTER A HARD RESET HAS BEEN DONE)

    Please try the following first:

    1. FIRST: MAKE SURE: Make sure the car is completely off, not even in ACC mode, and that your remote starter still works, then disconnect the plugs going into the module (big white, little white, red and black), then do the process again). 2. However, when you get to the ignition press sequence step, press the ignition the first time, then one second later push it a second time, then count 10 seconds (you will hear a lone door chime sound off-this is not the lone quick chirp you might hear, but a long drawn out single beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep of the door chime), then3. Count 5 more seconds after you hear it, then push the ignition a 3rd time. If it worked, you should see the module flash blue each time you hit UNLOCK on the fob.

If this all goes as mentioned above, shut your doors and test while standing outside the vehicle. Do not leave your spare fob in the vehicle as you test. Please let us know!

    Resyncing Smart module (To N2-EA)

    Please try the following first:

    1. FIRST MAKE SURE: your remote starter still works by testing it; IF IT DOES NOT, SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. IF IT DOES STILL WORK, then stop it, make sure the car is completely off, not even in ACC mode, and then disconnect the plugs going from the smart module to: A. remote starter harness, and B. the one going from the smart module adapter straight into the remote starter module (black 4-pin data-link; one without tabs). Ensure the housing from the remote starter for the data link wasn’t inadvertently yanked out when pulling it out of the black input on the remote starter.
    2. However, when you get to the ignition press sequence step, press the ignition the first time, then one second later push it a second time, then count 10 seconds (you will hear a lone door chime sound off-this is not the lone quick chirp you might hear, but a long drawn out single beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep of the door chime),
    3. Count 5 more seconds after you hear it, then push the ignition a 3rd time. If it worked, you should see the module flash blue each time you hit UNLOCK on the fob.

    - Make sure you’ve chosen the FORTIN bypass protocol in the app when prompted.

If this all goes as mentioned above, shut your doors and test while standing outside the vehicle. Do not leave your spare fob in the vehicle as you test. Please let us know!”

Anyone here have an issue unlocking their vehicle with the app (Car Link v.4.3.1)? I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma Limited with the N2-EA-TOY6-K remote starter and the Smart Phone Control Module: N2-MYC4G-U. I can start, stop and lock my vehicle, but I can't unlock it via the app. I can unlock it with the key fob. N2Designs is looking into this but wondered if anyone on here has come across this.

Just installed the remote start and smart module on my 2018 and just wanted to join in on the customer service praises. I was super happy with the product especially for what I got for the price I paid and the install was super simple for me not being a very mechanically inclined guy. Got the install to a 95% solution and everything worked except for the start/stop/lock/unlock button on the smart phone. Pretty sure I rushed through something and probably messed something up but Jimmy called me at 8pm CST and was able to walk me step-by-step and get my system to 100% in about 10 minutes. Haven't had an issue since.

I just bought the remote start kit for a 22 manual, do they still send you the “valet button” kill switch, with the 3x start without smart cell phone app module? Just making sure I’m not missing it if I decide to upgrade to the cell phone app.

Is this normal or did I break it.
Installed it easily enough and both fob and phone app started the truck. I accidentally yanked out the blue smart module connector and after failing to sync it again I noticed a missing pin. Are there supposed to be 4? 4540739E-E19E-4BFE-BD77-842F2E846B2E.jpg

Just finished installing my remote starter (HKey for 2018 Manual trans) and I'm having issues with it not going into ready mode. I follow the sequence, hear the relay click, the dash lights come on, and the engine stays running when I remove the key, but once it shuts down(after closing the door) the doors never lock themselves and the starter doesn't work.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Update: Called Justin last night as suggested, and he was VERY helpful. After about 3 minutes diagnosing he determined that I must have rushed through the programming step (which is probable knowing me...). He walked me through the reset and reprogram and now she's working like a charm. Top-notch service!

Just in the nick of time too, temps dropped 20 degrees since yesterday. Winter is coming...

Question related to the cell module/service.

I looked at it today, and if I renewed it today, it would be back-dated as renewal 4 months. 1 year would only get me through to July '23, instead of 12 months from today (Nov '23). 3 year does the same thing out to July 2025.

This screenshot is taken on 2022-11-21 (PS, props to the company for using the ISO date format! I am almost positive that's not N2 though)

No. Installed in Feb 2020 (or there abouts). It ran through the trial year, I didn't renew. Renewed when I needed to get into the truck without the key fob (long story), so I renewed in July 2021 (I'm assuming 25th of July, given the dates shown), so it expired July 25 2022 (this year).

If I wanted to renew now, it is backdating that service those months.

I haven't inquired anywhere else, was just curious if others here knew what the deal was.

EDIT: To be clear, this is NOT N2. The cell service is a third party company, N2 just interacts with it.

Weird. I just tried my CL6 app to renew early and it wasn't "backdating" me. Still have one more year left...I would logout of the app and in.

Nope, and when I open it in the app I get a pop up warning that service is expired.

I'ma send them an email. It's a luxury thing right now, I signed in just to check what the cost was (couldn't remember), and found this.

Response from the tech support below. Sounds like just an app shenanigans that's not quite up to snuff, but if you pay on X date, you get X + a year, not back dated.

    Hi Rob,
The date on the app will reflect the renewal purchase, once the transaction is done. If there is an error, please let us know and we will submit a ticket to correct it.
    Thanks

Wanted to chime in and add to the growing list of compliments to the N2 Design customer service team. I was having issues with the cell phone app and getting it out of test mode and I called N2 and they got me up and running in minutes.
