Does it matter when you let off of the clutch in the sequence to put it into reservation mode?

No, it doesn’t affect it. Once the truck’s in neutral the brakes are doing all the stopping.

Just gotta go neutral on the stick, then hand brake, then foot brake

Hand brake has to be down in order to start all that, so best practice to have your foot on the foot brake so she doesn’t roll

 

So I got all excited... started up the car. Then turned it off in the sequence (brake pedal pressed, e-brake up, let go of brake). I turned the ignition off and pulled the key out. Truck kept running. So far so good.

I get out of the truck, close the door. As soon as the door shuts, the truck shuts off. Hmm...

Pressed 3x on the lock button to start the truck. Nothing.

Ugh.

 

Hmm that’s all correct......when exactly did you push the lock button....like, did you wait for it to try to lock itself. Then wait 1-2sec, THEN push lock. That completes the Reservation Mode

Then 3x lock to start it

 

The truck is supposed to turn off as soon as you shut the door?

I pushed the lock button after the truck shut off by itself. I did not wait for the truck to lock itself. I wasn't aware that it does that. I'll try as you suggested. Thanks!

Yep

Gotta wait for it to try to lock itself. I didn’t hear the door locks, only noticed it because of my super loud Pop’n’lock in my tailgate.

Should work if you get the sequencing right.

Edit: watch this one again. You can’t hear it in the video and I kind of only glazed over it. The truck does something with the locks (might actually be Unlock), then you have to lock it yourself within like a 3-10sec window otherwise the reservation mode doesn’t take.

Does the light stalk have to be turned to “OFF”? Mine doesn’t seem to start if it’s left in the DRL position. Non-automatic lights, btw.

 

Interesting.....mine has been completely off every time I’ve tried it, so I can’t say for sure. I can see that it could be tied in somehow since the DRLs come on with the remote start even though they’re off at the stalk....

 

I got it to work with it being left on DRL. I think it’s just touchy putting it into “Reservation Mode”. The more I practice the sequence the more its starting to work for me.

 

Door locks 10-15 sec after it shuts off. When use fob give it 1sec each time u press lock

 

Right on it is if your not use to doing it alot

Interesting. Mine locks (or unlocks I think) almost immediately after the engine shuts off. I’ll play with it again tomorrow

 

Ya you hear it unlock then lock.

 

Yup. It does that. Then I press lock on the keyfob about 1 second later. Walk away.

But when I go to start it (3x lock button), it does nothing. One time, I waited a few seconds after pressing it 3x, then pressed 3x again. This time all the lights turned on as if it was going to do something. But it didn't.

Puzzled at this point.
