Yeah I just put the two together when you mentioned that. I was cleaning up the install and had to re route the wire. Ill re configure it and see if that fixes it.

 

Was expecting mine Monday, came in the mail yesterday. Been chompin at the bit to get it installed but have family and work obligations taking precedence...

 

Did this work for you? My remote start is working fine, and the app seems to be receiving info from the unit (doors locked/unlocked, run timer, etc.), but none of the commands from the app are working (can’t start/stop, unlock/lock doors, and no GPS).

I tried changing the protocol, and then changing it back, but same outcome.

 

My app keeps saying I’m in test mode? Anyone else have this issue?

 

Issue ended up being a programming error on my part. Called @jayrobot on a Sunday afternoon, and he spent 45 minutes helping me troubleshoot and reprogram. Excellent product and even better customer service!

The instructions tell you (hard copies I sent) to then release the vehicle, then click the “+” at the bottom to add it again. You two aren’t done setting it up. When done there will be NO red “TEST MODE” lettering across your screen whatsoever.

 

My everyday prices are still lower than the big competitors. Either that or there’s always next year if you want to start pitching that tent! There will be no Christmas sale this year in case anyone else here was holding your breath, you’ll pass out.

Mail man dropped off my Smart Module at 630 this morning! Got it installed without any issues. Works great!

 

Got my kit yesterday.. Plan on installing either tomorrow or Thursday..

Question for @jayrobot:
I work in a secured lot and, usually, just leave the keys in truck. Will this effect how cellular remote start works by leaving the keys in the truck? I have push-to-start ignition.

 

Merry Christmas to me! Thanks Jimmy. Expected delivery was the day after Christmas, but somehow santa heard me crying for this. It came on Christmas eve! Will update with installation.

 

Got everything wrapped up for my MT Tacoma. The issues I thought I had were just some delays in CarLinks system since it was a new install. Everything is working perfectly including the smart module. Jimmy thanks again for taking a call on a Sunday, much appreciated.

Anyone have trouble getting this black power connector in?
The clip is keeping it from connecting in all the way

 

Wrong black plug

 

After installation, my steering wheel rubs against the plastic shroud of steering column. The bottom piece seems a tad loose but I can't get it clip any tighter. Does anyone else have the same issue or suggestions of getting a tighter fit?

 

How will I know when the smart module update/ configuration is done?
Or get it out of test mode?

 

Look at the circle around the key. It’s probably not centered. Get your thumbs behind the wheel on the bottom side of the cover. Push down and it should kinda click into place. If it doesn’t then you missed the little slide in mount that the lower piece of plastic slides into.

Read the instructions that came with the smart module. It says exactly what you need to do to get it out of test mode. Go to your garage and release the truck and then add it back in.
