You are clearly passionate about your product and dedicated to a high standard of quality and customer service.

It is taking of constructive criticism, even when it is difficult and making changes for the better that will make you an industry leader. Going above and beyond should always remain your goal. Do not let what you competitors do guide you, and lull you into thinking you can do the same.

Please don't make the assumption that all your customers will be able to access the internet while installing your product. Or even have access at all. Ask yourself how your product would be received if it was sent to someone as a gift who lived in the middle of nowhere with out good cell service and no internet. Then ask how important clear written instructions would be in that situation.

Taking the day off tomorrow so if you intend on doing the install and might need my help via phone, just know that response time might be delayed if non-existent at best. I’ll be taking my son to Disneyland to catch the Christmas parade so I may be able to respond via text or PMs here n there. Some of you will notice that your orders (without smart modules) made over the holiday weekend (including Christmas Eve and Day) already received tracking numbers already. That’s because they were kitted tonight to ship tomorrow morning.

Everyone else with a back ordered smart module, I’ve located two backup sources I’m going to try to speak with this week. Trying diligently if it means anything. You guys have not been forgotten and your kits are packed and ready to go as soon as they hit the docks!

With that said, I’d like to engage some of you in this process. I need 3 people willing to write me a good install guide with pictures. Each one gets a $100 cash credit/debit. I need one person for each of the 3 different types to write the install guide with pictures for 3rd gen (16-19). Not a novel thick, 4 pages or less would be nice. Another $50 is added for a clean, thourough YouTube video. Not shakey or bad video quality. Must show details or overall work space so that locating working area and points of access can be referenced against other details with the area, so zooming in too much isn’t good either, but far away where detail isn’t obvious isn’t either. Don’t care if it’s your phone, most phone are good quality nowadays. 1080p or even 4K preferred. Video must show it running, and how to do key override on HKEY after it’s been started, as well as reservation/ready mode process on the MT.

(I.e “today we’re going to install the N2 Designs Plug n Play Remote starter kit for 2016-2019 Toyota Tacoma’s with Push to Start”, and at the end something like “and that’s how you install the N2 Designs remote starter kit for 2016-2019 Toyota Tacomas”). Be careful not to get your reflection in or on the vehicle, have poor/dark lighting so donotnoutsode during the day, preferably sunny day and use whatever lights are needed to be set on the floor board or drivers seat to aim and give more light to the work space. Don’t reference the year ofyourvehicle or anything from specific, if it’s Push to start, it’s Push to start. Show trim removal and trim put back. Speak with me prior so I can tell you points to being up when people do common incorrect things so that it addresses most common questions during your video. I’ll give you guide points and time of mention during the install. I’ll give you the all the steps/bullet point in the order of install for flow. It should line up with the install guide. Thenwritten install guide is a good script if it covers each step, which I can provide you. You just need to provide the pictures, and written steps. I’ll revise as needed and get with you as needed, if needed.

Why am I doing this? TW has kept me too busy, busy where we’re considering a permanent payroll just for Tacoma’s. Yes. That’s the point it has reached. This success is all because of you guys and I couldn’t thank you more. As much as we’ve kept up, this little nook has had great reception. We don’t want to sacrifice quality and delivery. I need quality, but I also need fast delivery. Haven’t had issues with that so far other than any manufacturer backordered items. Anyone else can tell you from time of order for stocked items, and from time off providing a tracking number, we ARE fast. We anticipate more growth with the manual transmission line since as we see it, were the only go to ones so far. This means world wide. But to be able to cater quality products and delivery, I’ve limited the world to only the United Stayes and Canada. I can’t and will not open the gates to other countries because it would mean everyone else pays for it if were not ready for that volume. Yes, that’s money on the table that could be had, but I’m not greedy. This was never about profit, you guys know that. Look at what most of you paid or still pay. I’m not raising my prices, not for a while. I like where I’m at because I don’t feel like I’m robbing you guys of hard earned cash. I get inquiries internationally daily and currently apologize to them, because we don’t have time for the simple fact of dealing with Tariff forms, international sales volume and so on. We’re looking for a bigger warehouse and a nicer store front now too. This isn’t all because of TW but I thought I’d share the news with you all because we know how to structure niche markets now, not just online. 3 car groups, each with about 30 dealerships of different makes, have approached me to sit and talk. They want to discuss how to put me on the finance departments upsell list, you know, the place where you go to finalize the sale and sign docs and where they try to sell you stuff like LoJack and accessories....the place where you smart people know going in to “say no to everything”...haha.

Another reason is because this forum, specifically this thread has brought lots of smart and creative folks together. Sometimes I’m busy kitting stuff for you, I check here to see if anyone needs help, low and behold, someone has been assisted and answered by another forum family member. That’s the love that kept me here. And that’s the reason I sold everything so cheap, because I’ve gotten the same assistance way back when I needed it. Very mature group of people and no one has ever put me or other members down. That’s the reason I honestly do it. I’ve spoken to lots of you on the phone and everyone has been very polite, courteous and patient regardless of situation and has given me the chance to correct and make something right, and then some. I’ve made friends here that I speak with daily (@jmeitz, shutup haha...- preemptive response because I know you'll reply to this notion).

Another reason I don’t have the time t the moment, but want to provide an answer, with compensation of course, to some of the feedback I’ve gotten. I HAVE to. If I keep ignoring it, It says I don’t care about the one or two opinions that actually are constructive and do nothing but improve N2. I agree with all opinions and suggestions so far, maybe not delivery on some, but that’s a part of the business right? The customer is always right. Almost always at least haha... you guys are great I can’t thank you enough for the support and patience. At the end I’m doing it for you. This is not something done on other forums or to local customers. Price or service. You guys get and deserve it. Let’s do this!

If anyone has any suggestions or comments, PM me. I’m all ears. Sometimes good ideas, creativity, tips or good suggestions get random rewards and compensation. A few of you on here already know this. I’m not fluffing anyone up. I like to share the wealth with those who help us grow. A lot of you have turned the reward down and refused it only because you’re truly humble and have no expectations for it, but I always insist and force it regardless. It’s only fair.

We have one for PTS. Not confirmed until we speak. Will take a few names for each. Doesnt hurt to have back ups just in case a volunteer flakes, had a change of heart or lags. Looking to do this ASAP.

 

You’re good, not the horn nor lights toot during programming either, different hardware revs, the video is using old stuff, if it starts each time, enjoy it! If it’s broke, I’ll fix it.

 

Hmmm, my wife’s sienna already has a fortin remote start, a 4g module would be a nice addition to it. I’ll mull it over while I’m at work today.

 

I would be down to help with the PTS if need be. Let me know one way or the other.

Just wanted to drop in and give props to the good customer service provided to me. @jayrobot didn't leave me hanging with my install, even though I trashed his product documentation just a few pages ago.

I have a very unique issue and Jimmy is sending me a new unit free of charge. Looking forward to getting this thing working!

 

anyone have this issue: install went like butter (smart module), downloaded the app and set it up. released vehicle to get out of test mode and now all i get is a Unable to locate device ID error.


EDIT: Never mind, seems i fat fingered the damn serial number the first dozen times i put it in. @jayrobot, thanks for the easy to install and use product! Waiting for the tailgate unlock you hinted about now!

 

Got home from work and my smartphone module was here! Oh yeah! Installed it and it works flawlessly. Thanks Jimmy you rock!
