Got my Black Friday Package in the mail yesterday :)

Installed it this afternoon....easy as watching videos and mimicking the images.

Both the Starter and the Smart App worked perfectly the first time I tried them :)

I must have done something after that because the phone app doesn't work now. I just sent Jimmy a detailed PM and I'm sure he'll figure out what I did wrong! I may have pressed the programming button while stowing the unit up in the dash area. Anyway, I cannot troubleshoot it until tomorrow.

I can't believe how AWESOME this product is! I never thought I'd install my own remote start system....but it was almost as easy as installing the SSP on my Taco.

Huge thanks to Jimmy for a great product and superior customer care!

    Thanks!

Your issue of being stuck in test mode is because you need to release the vehicle and then add it’s 16 digit code again. Part of the process for all folks. Simple as that and in the written instructions. Other than that you’re good.

    Thanks @jmeitz and @jayrobot !

I appreciate the videos and the written instructions....which I failed to complete! I think I got too excited after the initial testing and then I didn't read the rest of the printed documents. I'll release the truck and re-add it when I get into town where I have cell service and can test the app.

This morning it is 9 degrees outside....I'll have a nice warm truck before I ever set foot out the door :)

Awesome product and customer support....5 Star Rating....now you guys just need to start selling more things that I need to buy!

Or you can go to settings and transfer vehicle and type in your email again and you won’t have to re enter in your 16 digit number again.

I'm still having issues getting my App to work with the 4G module. CL6 has released two updates to the app since I purchased the unit. The temp work-around of changing the protocols does work but it's not a solid solution.. If there is a perm. fix, can someone please share?

I wouldn't take anyones advice aside from @jayrobot and maybe @jmeitz. That being said, I personally would reprogram the module. I fucked up and selected the wrong protocol and Jimmy walked me through the steps of deleting / releasing the truck and completely readding it after reprograming the module to the truck. It's worked great so far.

Again though, best person to ask for a permanent fix would be Jimmy.

    UPDATE!!
Jimmy called and we reinstalled the system (N2 legendary cust service). pretty much what i had done before. BUT, I think we have it narrowed down to a connectivity issue.
im going to play with location of the module and signal strength of the cell network.
Has anyone else noticed the head unit screen being dimmed out when started by the non-factory system? then when you restart from the dash it comes up bright?

might be a little different on mine since it's a MT but when I put it in reservation mode the dash dims. Once the truck is up and running like normal (whether I started with the remote start or just with the key) the brightness isn't affected

I have an 2018 Automatic, I have not noticed any dimming of any factory lights when using the non-factory system.

I’ll look into it again tomorrow RJ but don’t lose sleep over it, as long as everything IS ok when you restart the vehicle manually as you will have to anyways since you have a PTS that requires you to do so. But I’ll do what needs to be done if it’s bothersome. I’ll test one tomorrow. Take a picture of the label on the remote starter module (NOT Smart module) so I can dig into it deeper than today.

For HKEY folks who have a horn honking before the engine turns on remote start instead of the subtle chirp, this is the fix for you:

If you have an OEM alarm, (you’ll know if your horn honks before cranking the engine), then you’ll also need to do this:

You need to tap/jumper the orange wire from the connector seen in the photo to the green wire IN THE MIDDLE of the other two green wires on the connector in the photo as well. This will disarm the horn. Not all vehicle require this from the dozens sold already. I Suggest RED Positaps or RED 3M T TAPS, you' need two pairs and a wire. Don't undo the harness fabric tape, there isn't enough wire in there to reach.

    C98B18F1-1F74-4B03-BE39-5E4BC5509AE5.jpg

Keep in mind that you must let the vehicle run its course when it’s powered down. And before you DO anything, check to see that once you’ve exited the vehicle - to hit lock once AFTER the car stops running and does it’s own locking, THEN you can press lock, AND THEN you MUST wait for the ALARM light in your vehicle to become armed, ONLY THEN you can remote start it. If you try before the vehicle arms it’s self, then it WILL sound off. So essentially don’t rush it. So after the car does it’s own locking, you will lock it also. Normally you’ll walk away so this wouldn’t be an issue or something you’ll notice, but once you lock it your alarm light will go solid, then it will start blinking. Once it starts blinking, it’s set and then you can remote start it. Don’t forget this!

If you aren’t in a rush I can have this tap kit sent out to you in the mail, and you’ll get it in a few days, or else you can solve this immediately without waiting if you’re comfortable. All I’m doing here is supplying you with the wire and the taps already crimped:

Won't get that level of support / follow up with Crutchfield or Newegg.

I haven't mentioned it before because, quiet frankly, I'm sorely disappointed with the manufacture. On the flip side, Jimmy has been a total ROCKSTAR with customer support. For someone to help his customers over the holidays while spending time with his family must not go unnoticed. You don't come across people in this industry very often who is willing to provide this level of service.

@jimmy.. You know what I do for a living and I'm very well aware of how much technology can be a total PITA.. I've learned that patience is the only way to go with these things.. I'm just hoping we can find a perm. fix for all of us who are dealing with this.. I'll hit you up later in the day when I things die down at the office
