Got the remote starter and module installed. I was able to turn the car on with the app and off before I put everything back together. But now it wont work, is this because test mode only works the one time to test? I released the car and it cleared testmode. But app function still not working. I'm assuming I will have to pull it out and re-program.

Right after I asked about the bypass I found the protocol on the paper. lulz

After test mode release, you add the code again. And if your protocol is not Fortin, it will only work once depending which other (incorrect) protocol was clicked. There is a way to change it if you need to do so.

When tucking everything away make sure you did not accidentally strain, or inadvertently disconnect something without you being aware.

If everything is sound, log out, kill the app and all apps currently running on your phone, then log back in and try. If it still does not work, then logout again, kill the LinkR LT (not delete it) from running, Cycle power to the smart module using the big black connector that goes into the bottom of the smart module for a minute. Wait until the red and green lights are solid, then when they are, log back into your app and try. Make sure the vehicle is not in a garage before you cycle power to the module and test. It has to be sitting outside (while you test and commission the unit for the first time) or else it will not have locked onto a cellular signal.

My car was in a car port when I was testing the smart module. Im guessing I will have to power cycle the module not in my carport?

You mean hook the pink wires back together then do this and do a mock remote startup? Or have it hooked up to your module as usual then run through these steps?

Just to confirm, I just repeat steps to connect smart module to remote starter and should be good to go?

Planning to do this tomorrow evening or Friday morning.

This is done post remote starter install portion. Smart module install business as usual following the included install guide doc.

    Hey Jimmy,

You talked awhile back on some new features coming, any idea as to what they are and when we might see them? Saw a remote start picture recently floating around the Facebook world for the Tacomas where it told the current fuel level, tempture inside the vehicle and shit.

Just had the same problem. Pulled out of my garage and parked in the street and then it worked fine.

PM me a Link/Screenshot ...because we don't poll the CAN system for that...that's the OEM 2020 Remote Connect which does have tentacles intertwined within the system because it's integrated.

Maybe it was the 2020 system, it didn't state unfortunately, would be dope to be able to select different bits of information we'd want to see or control more things inside the vehicle remotely.

Yeah, I did multiple tests afterwards, shutting the truck off, remote started it, made calls in between, and everything worked fine. However today when I tried to make a call the mic stopped working again :( and the remote starter still works. I don't get it. Would it be worth trying another module?

Did you have to unplug the module and plug back in?

Just got it working. Parked outside, had to do the entire smart module programming again. Unplug big black from smart module, unplug little black fro. Remote starter, plugged in smart module after one minute to big black. Used program button to reprogram and now it works!
