I can not only do that but I have 7, 10, 15, 30, 60 avaliable by request only or else the most efficient and well rounded time to warm an engine and a cabin or warm an engine and cool the cabin is proven to be 15 minutes. Which is also good for those who walk away clicking the fob a million times and unintentionally starting their vehicle. Just mention this in the notes section of checkout and PM me your invoice number with your request.

3. I do not sell the Canadian version of the smart module. Different chipset for cellular service providers than in the US. If you buy it nd try to activate it in Canada, it will not work. Unfortunately demand isn’t high enough to justify stocking the Canadian version locally. To sum it all up, don’t buy this from me, I will refund immediately and may slow your processing and shipping. CL6 app released an update last night, everyone please update your app for optimal performance.

 

Are we supposed to be running above CL6 or MyCar app?? I downloaded and am using MyCar. Any differences?? Kind of confused with your above post.

Outside of that - installed the Smart Module in less than 10 minutes a few days ago - and - wondering how you could live without it - it’s amazing. Almost silly to buy the starter without it.

Also - please clarify on above question about which App I should be using.

And - worth noting - mine came programmed to run 30 mins not 15 for some reason.

 

Anyone is fine...they all work. This product is branded for a few different companies. I’m selling you the best one in terms of hardware. If you want, delete one app and try the other to see if you see a performance or bug difference. I think your login with one is good with the other as well. They are only different in terms of interface/GUI (cosmetic appearance) not function. You’re good, whichever you prefer. You won’t break anything.

As far as the 30 minutes, that’s the only bug that is going to be fixed with app updates and/or firmware pushes to your smart module. It’s actually 15 minutes, test it. Don’t let that timer fool ya. Try deleting your MyCar app and check to see if CL6 fixes it. Delete MyCar completely and reboot your phone before downloading CL6. Try your current login info, should’ve the same.

 

In my limited experience testing, the timer starts reading at 30 minutes. While counting down, a little after the 28 minute mark, it suddenly jumps down to the correct time 13 mins xx seconds.

 

Minor bug, and I anticipate it will be fixed over time with app updates and behind the scenes firmware pushes over the air (without your control, knowledge and when) to your smart modules, but if I were the app developer, I know how and where to fix it. The programmer should be fired for accidentally copying and pasting the 30 minute display for all pre-set times! Amateur coder error...only if they gave me the open source code...I’d do a lot more cool stuff than what’s offerred. Who knows, with how busy you guys have kept me, I may just try to develop my own app interface. If somehow they were able to give me access to their proprietary code and protocol, but highly unlikely because I wouldn’t trust anyone to take something that works and not accidentally roll it out worse than they got it prematurely on accident. Likely from a brand name perception, it would make them look bad and product wouldn’t sell; not to mention if something started to circulate that was VERY buggy, it could spread like the plague and only I would be able to fix it...if I even chose to so. I do see why this is only dreaming. I’d have to create all the hardware (remote starter and smart module) and designs myself...or become a manufacturer of what I’m selling you to ever have control like that....

That or take a temporary job with them, fix what I need, and then quit haha! It’s not just you, it’s all of us unfortunately. We’re in it together haha!

CL6 and MyCar are literally identical - zero operating differences - and literally has the identical update you referenced. So - good info to know.

We will see if they update the bug on the 15/30 min run time.

They are the same exact app, just different skin and name.

 

Yup, and even more so, same login. You’ll notice the software versions on both are identical. So like Jeremie said...all looks, nothing more.

Just wanted to add an update to this since this was the only one with install hiccups. Tony is local to me and at the end, it turned out he hadn’t pushed in the white BCM connector thoroughly into the vehicle. I changed out all the components and assumed the harness was fine as I let him do that part, I installed everything else and never ever thought to second guess it. There was no way many remote starters and smart modules being tested and replaced on his vehicle would act the same way. Especially since I test all your stuff before I send it out! So far a 0 defect rate as should be! Moral of the story, make sure connections are all the way in, and if there is a click to be had, hear it! (But don’t force anything in that isn’t meant to go in) instructions exist for a reason, read them two or three times, watch the videos, and if in doubt, call me before “getting creative” guys!

What programming languages does the module accept? I’m familiar with Lua basics and I’m sure we can find something open sourced. Lol

 

Proprietary. I’m a programmer too, they won’t tell me and if they did, they won’t give me the software interface. We’re locked out, but on a brighter note, there will be an app update at the end of this week that fixes the timer issue! Sweet!

 

Attention: there will be an app update for the smart module towards the end of the week that addresses the timer bug! Be sure to update it! Now we are flawless baby!

This applies to both CL6 or MyCar apps. Doesn’t matter which you use, they are both the same and use your same login.

 

I have a long drawn out story for my starter and smart module that I will receive back today but the down n dirty of mine is, Jimmy is one hell of a customer service guy. Literally, off the charts and never seen before! To anyone scared of doing this yourself, fear not for Jimmy is here!

My remote starter worked fine and when I screwed up the programming of the smart module, nothing worked so I called Jimmy. We had tried everything under the sun (for 2 hrs) to get it going but I sent it into an eternal loop. He then sent me a 2 day label to send him both units. 2 days later (Friday night about 7) he calls me to have me start his truck, unlock and lock over and over again on the app from Chicago to California! Everything works instantly! He then 2nd day ships the units back to me, of which I received today.

We spoke and he walked me through the linking process and everything works fantastic!! It took 10 stinkin minutes to get me up n running!!

BTW Jimmy, whats your favorite kind of pizza because im sending you a gift! Service like this deserves a full belly!

Honestly if I must say, those of you who bought and saved greatly in the process, I am very humbled to have worked with such a great group of gentlemen as yourselves.
