Has anyone attempted to create a harness by de-pinning the TPMS instead of cutting?

I know risk of cutting is minimal but prefer not cutting up them up.

Heard of some folks doing that before...you'll have to find the mating crimp for the connector socket...we don't have that p/n but these connectors aren't made by Toyota. A lot of hunting on the net should yield some results.

Hey jimmy! I was reaching out to you today to see if you could help me out with my recently installed remote start kit and smart phone module for my 2020 A/T Tacoma. I programmed the remote start kit properly, as I can start/stop my truck with my wireless key fob but I cannot operate my truck with my smart phone.
I can see all my indications, battery voltage, start/stop, unlock/lock, functions but upon trying to use them I can not. The unit was programmed accordingly I believe but I don’t mind reprogramming it if that’s the case. I left a voicemail as well, I called after hours I believe.

Installed mine today with the cell phone module... Works great and the install was so easy. I used to install complex alarms and remote starts and it's so nice to have a plug and play option! Great job N2! Now if only there was an add-on for window control...

@N2DesignsInc. How accurate is the battery level indicator on the CL6 app?

    Within +/- 12VDC

No, seriously, pretty spot on. Within 200mV - 300mV.

Just so I'm clear on this, if I cut the TPMS wire, the TPMS will cease to function and not notify me when my tire pressure is down right?

And If my fob presses wont register post-start, does that include the lock/unlock button?

You’ll have full TPMS functionality after. The flashing TPMS light lets you know it’s in ready mode and you can turn the key off. The system shuts the engine off when the drivers door closes.

the only pain in the ass with a manual is it’s easy to start ready mode during normal situations. Pull up to the drive thru window, neutral, parking brake...you’ll get a TPMS system error if you aren’t careful. I’ve gotten in the habit of letting off the brake for a second before putting the parking brake on for things like that. If the warning comes up, it goes away as soon as you cancel ready mode by stepping on the brake. Not a big deal.

As much as I appreciate detail and accuracy I think the temp reading is a little excessive:rofl:

The TPMS is still fully operational. Not cutting the wire means the fob won't register post-start (lock/unlock). This is why we cut it so that the fob DOES register post-start so you can unlock it and get in and do key take over or so that you can remote stop it by pressing lock 3 times. If you don't cut it, you'll have to enter the vehicle manually by sticking the key into the keyhole to unlock.

    ^ This man knows what's up :)

    Absolutely!

    Hey Jimmy,

My remote start is having some issues. On the app, it shows it is connected and is displaying the voltage and temperature. However, it's showing the doors are unlocked and won't start via the app. I installed a trailer brake controller yesterday so I am wondering if maybe it lost programming during the process or I knocked a wire loose...

Just cycle power to the module for a minute WITHOUT programming again if it was working. You may have received a firmware update...

Would disconnecting the battery accomplish that?

Why do that? Unplug the big black 8-pin, single row/flat connector going to the smart module device itself for a minute then plug back in...battery is overkill...
