I’m having the same issue where I can’t use the app to start/lock and unlock the vehicle. I’ve already tried disconnecting the 8 pin connector for 1 min and still no luck

 

If it worked before leave it plugged in after cycling power, it will come back, log out and log back in. If on cellular, switch to wifi or vice versa to 4G/LTE on your phone before logging in. Keep in mind, bad weather or network updates (which I think is going on) are likely to blame. I'm going to dig into this tomorrow as I'm hearing more and more past day or two of this. There is a "Service Status" section of the app you can also check.

Whatever you do, applies to EVERYONE, IF IT WORKED BEFORE, DO NOT REPROGRAM AGAIN. CYCLE POWER IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION AND LET IT BE. If the problem continues, reach out to us so we can investigate.

Now if it never worked, but you got solid green/red lights on the module, then it's typically user/installer error during programming (9/10 times); call us and we'll step you through the installation. Don't fiddle too much as we don't want you bricking the remote starter.

 

@N2DesignsInc. Just want to chime in. I’ve experienced this couple of days ago. It wouldn’t start via the iPhone App. So I tried remote starting it via my Apple Watch and it worked! I’m glad I did not mess with the module.

 

Based on the great feedback on this post, I just went ahead and placed an order for my 2021 SR auto H key with the module.
Looking forward to receiving it.

 

Does your SR have a fob or do you have to stick the key in the keyhole to unlock?

Jimmy, quick question. Is there 2FA support for the website where you register for the app such as password resets, etc?
(I recently had to enable 2FA for my xbox account due to someone hacking it)

Normally I wouldn’t ask this but since this gives access to the vehicle location with lock/unlock functions I’m curious how the consumer is protected?

Regardless of that, I’m still excited for my kit tomorrow. Thanks

 

There isn't, but in the app settings, you can enable a second layer of access by enabling the requirement for having a PIN code for the app along with biometrics login if you have an apple. This PIN isn't the same as unlocking your phone, but another one just like it when wanting to use the app.

 

It was good talking to you today Jimmy, my remote start works amazing + the data module. If anyone is on the fence, go for it.

Install is easy and if you have any hiccups, Jimmy will pick up the phone and help out.

one tip for the TPMs snip / snap connectors, when you’re about to close everything back up, theres a wire bundle close by, zip tie both TPMS cables to it to avoid strain on the oem wiring or the connectors on the N2 harness in case of an accidental yank.

is it just me, or has anyone else been having connection issues lately? This morning around 7am pacific and now around 4:45pm pacific. i'm just not seeing the remote start on my app. Been working pretty flawlessly for over a year now. I'm going to double check my position of the physical unit itself and see if something got moved recently.

Done the usual things. force closed app. Log out back on, toggle Cellular, reboot iPhone etc.

 

Mine seems to be down since midnight. Just checked it. My cell module is in the dash and I always get signal where I'm parked.

 

you’re right. Mine shows under last known position yesterday 4/15/2021 around just before midnight. 23:32:26 PDT

 

Same time for me, I'm on MST and showing 12:35 last update.

 

just saw this. Looks like there is something going on and they’re aware.

 

It has now been resolved. You guys should log out, kill the app, and log back in. All is working now.

Long shot but figured i’d ask

I just installed my compustar remote start into my 2021 6 spd taco that i had repurposed from my 4runner. ($700 that i didn’t want to see go to waste.)

i’m to the point where everything works except for remote starting without me having to press the clutch or clutch cancel button.

i think i need to setup a relay the way you guys have on your kit. any chance to guide me in the correct way to wire that relay?

i got to this point purely on luck as i’m not that electronically literate. completely understand if it’s the kind of information i’d have to pay for but figure i could ask and see.
