Tail gate that is (made you look), I finally got around to taking the badges of the tail gate of the dive taco.
1st thing I did was wash the tail gate, I was worried abut getting dirt caught between the emblem and the paint while cutting thru it with the fishing line.
Here are the materials I used.
Heat gun, 15 lbs fishing line, 2 peices of 1/2" pvc pipe, new plastic putty knife, WD40, Goo Gone, I replaced the paper towels with a soft cotton wash cloth.

Here is the before shot after washing.

    My first victim.

Using the low setting on the heat gun I slowly heated the emblem until it was warm to the touch. Using the pvc pipe as handles with the fishing line I flossed behind the emblem with a sawing motion moving from right to left until the emblem popped off. Here you can still see some of the double sided tape.

Here is the same spot after a good wiping with WD40 and a final wipe with Goo Gone.

Same process on the passenger side. The fishing line did break a couple of times but it worked well.

    After
    P1190767_ffa68620037f2edceff6b256cecad08274e98cba.jpg

    Final wipe down and wash.

I never did use the putty knife, I found the fishing line slid in right behind the emblem no problem. Also two fingers are a little raw from rolling the tape boogers off.
This took maybe 30 minutes at most and it makes a huge difference.

Ask Kody, he likes it! :D
