So thinking about pulling the trigger on a 5 year package I think it's 5 or 8 coats to protect my expensive new baby. Anyone's thoughts on if it's a waste of money or worth it? I've done 2 year / 2 coats before on my 15 and liked it a lot. Wondering if it's worth the investment.

If you plan on keeping your truck at least 10+ years, my opinion is yes its worth it.

Tigger pulled. $1300. Expensive out here. Same deal was $800 back in NJ.

I've never tried it but I'd be hesitent to pay someone else a bunch of money when I could to it myself for like $100. Its just time consuming.

Most people won't put in the effort to maintain a coating. Youcan never take your truck through an autowash just fyi.

Let us know how you like it. I'd like to know howsuperior it performs compared to a sealer.

The coating will not prevent paint damage bad enough to cause rusting. Thats not the purpose of it.

It should protect against UV, abrasion, contaminants, etc. it's warrantied for 5 years. I think you have to be a certified installer for ceramic pro. I wouldn't try myself anyways and yes I know how to polish and wax/seal. But being in AZ now and truck outside want something a bit tougher to avoid early clearcoat failure, etc.

Why can't I take it through a touchless carwash? If your implying swirls in the coating that's no different than swirls in clearcoat as long as you properly wash and dry with like microfiber towels or touchless carwash shouldn't be an issue, I would never take any vehicle through a brush or regular carwash.

In my research of coatings, I have not seen one that will not get stripped when going through an autowash. Its because of the detergents being used, not swirls from washing and drying methods. You have to use a coating safe soap as far as I know.

There are a few guys on here that have self installed coatings. Its not difficult. You do your paint corrective process then prep the painted surfaces with basically an isopropyl alcohol wash. Its just a PITA to clean so meticulously (and coming from a guy whos annual detail takes 10 hours).

Do post a review of it over time. I'm thinking about biting the bullet and putting a coating on my truck. People on here who have them love em.

Gotcha, I did remeber guys saying something bout the harsh detergents. Well looks like it may be time to invest in a foam cannon lol. I usually hand wash anyways with chemical guys stuff. Will do!

OP is not talking about a consumer coating. Professionally applied coating are more durable and better quality. So not the same as the $100 coating from Autogeek.

This is completely false. Coating will not be stripped. Coatings have to be polished off to remove. now the life of the coating maybe compromised but you will not strip a coating. If they were that easy to remove then why apply one?

To coat with ceramic pro you have to be certified to buy it or anything. You can do 4 coats and a top coat and it's considered a lifetime coating. To take the ceramic off you have to cut it with compound. If your not ceramic pro certified I wouldn't recommend trying to do it yourself it isn't quite as easy as you think. We do ceramic coatings at my shop, they make interior coatings and window coatings as well.

Yep, I just went with the "silver package" this time, 9H coat followed up by the light coat, 5 year warranty with proper maintenance. I've done the 2 year bronze package on my 15 and 16 and loved it.

Yup the 9h is the main coat we normally do about 4-5 coats followed by the top coat when we do a lifetime coating! It's some good stuff forsure!

Don't really make too much the ceramic is pretty high plus the labor to prep before the ceramic and then putting it on take a couple days
