I think PN 944052 is the "regular" CV and PN 944082 is the "high performance" CV—but the only difference is the boot.

That being said, NAPA uses multiple manufacturers for both part numbers. And some manufacturers are better than others. I replaced both my axles with PN 944082. The boots on one side tore, while the others are holding up just great. The axles themselves have been great though.

the extreme have Premium thermoplastic boots and the refurbished have neoprene boots.. which will last longer in the desert hot environment? So should i get the remanufactured? (are they factory) or the extreme price diff is only $20

I have had both. The reman were more oem looking than the ones with the upgraded boots. The new ones were 100% not oem. However I never had any issues.

So I’m seeing Part #941532 on the NAPA site as the only option with the thermo plastic boots. They are wanting $224.69 for one of these guys, not such a discount/budget option these days.

rock auto has the cardone HD option for $74.79 with the thermo plastic outer boot. We still convinced NAPA is just rebranded cardone?

So here b/c I'm in need of new CV's... From my current research in September 24'... The Premium Napa CV is now $377.99!!! Wow. Part number NCV 941899. The part number discussed above is no longer available and search for it came up as not found.

CVJ Remans are $328 for their highest quality boots and $235 for the next best option.

Can someone verify me on this or direct me to the cheaper NAPA part discussed earlier in the thread? What a difference COvid and Inflation makes...!!!

All things considered, I'll probably go with the least expensive option which is looking like CVJ's...

    Cheers!

Looks like they might have discontinued the "high-performance" ones in the US, I can't find the PN on the website anymore (but I can guarantee that the PN I previously bought was NCV944082). Looks like they still sell them in Canada for whatever reason (CA$256.49): https://www.napacanada.com/en/p/CCV944082

The "regular" ones still appear to be available ($180.39): https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NCV944052

The only difference between the two, AFAIK, is the boots. But they definitely have gone up in price since I bought them, which may not even make them worth it anymore. I paid ~$105 ea. for the "high-performance" ones (PN NCV944082) ~3 years ago.

Yep. Bought Cardone off of Rock for $175! I figure I can swap boots myself and bam… done. Hopefully I can rebuild my bad one and have it as a spare.

Is anyone running the NAPA extended travel cv's I'm having an issue where I'm pulling the tulip bearings out at full droop. I put my sway bar back in hoping to limit the droop and they still just slide out and destroy themselves. OEM, Auto zone and o'reilly's.
From my measurements and checking it out on the truck looks like I need an extra inch of shaft or inner cup. I'm really not trying to spend RCV money right now .PXL_20250114_012545437.jpg PXL_20250114_013352940.MP.jpgPXL_20250114_014743000.jpg
