I know this is off subject of the fiasco of Nascar, but as I am a fan of Danica Patrick (And I know this will bring on another :shitstorm: on me, but I don't care, I have to quote a news article recently published about her rookie career.

So while her rookie career is not as good as I had hoped, she is doing better than a lot of rookies that transferred from open-wheel or other sports car racing.

I wouldn't count all of them out yet. While they are a bit behind already, Jr did have a solid 6th this weekend. Also, anything can happen. All it takes is a wreck or something else at this point to blow someone out of first, and into last. Talladega will probably lock the top 5 though. At that track ANYTHING can happen.

Yea...but none of those other drives have really done much of anything thoughout their whole career yet. And I don't see Danica Doing much either. When JPM is probably the most successful on that list, there's not much to be proud of.

At least most successful in Sprint. Hornish is good in the truck series.

I agree with Dega but Jr had a good day and he still lost points. The reasoning is most of those guys havent shown any consistence. hell some havent even won a race this year and that is what is needed to overcome the guys up front

See though, you can't just rule someone out because either you don't like them, or that they haven't started off well. There are a lot of drivers who did not fare well their first season in full Cup. I was simply trying to say that she is doing better than the other drivers at the same point. Anyone can get better with enough practice. Sure, maybe she won't do great. I am just saying don't rule her out. She is just as capable of driving as anyone else. It all comes with experience. I still think perhaps more time cutting her teeth in Nationwide would have been better, but money talks, and she was bringing in the $$$. I am willing to bet that given another 2 years and she may just surprise a lot of people.

since smoke is out my only hope if that the 48 derails big time other than that I don't care who wins although Joe Gibbs is a good guy so maybe one of his boys.

While I would prefer anyone from the Hendrick team to win, I would be happy as long as Kyle does NOT win.

x2! I'd do anything to not see Kyle win. Anything can still happen with Talledega in the mix, but the way Kenseth is running, I say it's his championship to lose.

She will never win a Sprint Cup race. Even with the best equipment she tallies 25th-35th finishes when she isn't involved in accidents. Although I would love to see her win, it won't happen, she doesn't have the talent that requires consistent top 15 finishes and victories.

This is what I love: People who can just make a claim and think they are right. You have no idea how well she will do. this is her FIRST season, and for the Daytona 500 she finished 8th. her average finish is 26.6, but other drivers did worse than her, and still wound up with a win or more. You can't just arbitrarily state "She will never win a Sprint Cup race" and expect it to be true. Now while you may not think she will, only time will tell. She has skill, she just needs to hone it. Adding this after looking at the postings, but while she is qualified at 31st I believe, look at her time. .60 seconds slower than the pole. I mean come on, can YOU drive barely more than a half second slower than the pole car did today? If you truly look at her history, yes she has had her fair share of mistakes, she has also gotten caught up in some wrecks and such that were not her fault. Perfect example was Talladega earlier this year. I was there. On the final laps she was in 5th place, going STRONG and had been in the top 10 almost the entire race, but a wreck that was not her fault took her out. Hell, the best drivers out there sometimes have a bad thing happen. She just needs a little more track time.

I will accept Matt winning over Kyle for sure. Personally I would be happy if Kyle never won another race again considering his attitude. I lost all of my respect for him several years back. The man is a prick.

Awesome! Jr is doing much better this season. I like him being more consistent now, rather than before when he had so many bad finishes, but rocked the restrictor plate races.
