Boy I sure hope not I want to see the intimidator and the king keep the record. They were grass roots redneck racers not a polished gem.

JJ already has some records over them and yesterday was one of them. He is definitely headed to another championship, if not this year. He is also headed to the hall of fame. I understand the masses hate for him due to his winning ways but credit where credit is due, he is a talented and humble champion

    Quoted wrong person...lol

Dale Sr and Petty were the leaders in their day, but just like any other sport, records were made to be broken. I am a huge Dale Sr and Petty fan (Met them both several times) but face it, in today's Nascar, the technology and standards have taken the car out of the formula, and it is now more about the driver, and the pit crew. Hell, look at Dale Jr. This was really his race to lose, and his 2 costly mistakes took away his chance at the win. Obviously he would have eventually caught up with Jimmie, but there were not enough laps left for his 4 tires to beat out Jimmie and his 2 tires. And Jimmy is one hell of a driver. Props to the man for sure. I always support team members if my driver can't win, and I am sure that Hendrick was quite happy with a 1,2,4,14 finish for his cars. (I THINK that Kane finished 14th)

That is for sure. The man has some serious skills, and I am pretty sure that he will get another championship. It is just sad that we lost Dale Sr before he could have the chance.

x2! she is only in the Sprint Cup because she's a woman. She sells tickets and apparel. She a PR stunt. She is not a driver.

At least she's consistent. And at Bama, I made that claim that "she will never when a sprint cup race" as my own opinion, and I believe it to be true, anyone can win at Daytona or talladega where she has the best shot, hence her best finish, but I dont see the talent. These cars are set up almost identical and running 0.60 sec off pole speed is huge, I couldn't do it, but I wish I could.

As far as the Danica haters, just to be civil I won't comment on that part. Ya don't like her, and that is fine. I have seen some of the best drivers spin on the first lap of a race. This race has shown that fresh tires are not gripping well. I am still a fan, and FYI, it has nothing to do with her being a woman. I have actually watched her career since she was in go-carts. How many of you can say the same about your driver?
