Sorry, I just don't agree with you on that. Nascar is not in the habit of handing out championships like that. Sure, they COULD have red flagged the race, but it has ALWAYS been policy that as long as the cars can safely traverse the track, they keep it rolling. It has to do with policy, not trying to AFFECT the outcome of a race.

I am glad that Jimmie got his 6th. He has earned it. I know that they are racing for a win and a championship, but I think Kenseth knew that Dale had a better car, and just intentionally held him up. Yes, I know Kenseth was racing for a championship, I get that, and I'm not bitching at him directly, I just hated to see that happen. Jr had a real shot at a win.

Jr should have put Kenseth in the wall for holding him up like that, he had no reason to, the championship was lost and he wasn't going to beat Denny. I know every point matters, but that position wouldn't have mattered even if Jimmie blew an engine in the last 10 laps.

As far as the nationwide race, yea, they should've red flagged it, but they didn't intentionally manipulate who would win the championship.

Congrats to Jimmie, the dude is officially a legend, hard to win championships in this era of racing and he is dominating.

Here is the thing, we ALL know that anything could happen. Kenseth still had a shot until all passed the finish line. Jimmie could have had a flat, or got loose and fell back enough positions that Kenseth COULD have won. For that, I do not blame him. HOWEVER, when Jr did pass him and ended up coming up in front, Kenseth COULD have backed off a small amount, then tried to race for the position. Kenseth didn't give ANY, and it could have wrecked them BOTH. Granted Jr did not have quite enough room, but even the best of drivers out there THINK they have the car cleared. We don't know if the spotter may have told Jr he was clear, or not. Just the way it goes. I really think that if Jr had gotten around Kenseth on that pass, he has a real shot to run down Hamlin.

    WTH,

    "Couch racing" everyone ????

Middle of the race and the 20 & 88 come up on Patric. .F!@#$%%^% commentators went quiet when she almost took out all 3 ????

The "Color" coming from the booth is what sucks....their bias on any given race or week brings everyone into a HUH ??? moment...

Yes, 1/2 the country hates Johnson BUT his TEAM finds ways to make Homestead a defining point....JGR put on one he!! of a SHOW and Kenseth can be doubted, screamed at or cried about BUT until your a$$ sits in those seats and does what they do....:p .

    Keep watching your TV...;)

    Ok.......

Anyway, Bama, Jr.'s spotter did clear him on that instance you are referring to, I was listening in. Sucks Kenseth chose to almost put them both in the wall instead of letting up a little for a faster car and then race him back. Glad to see Jr. Have such a strong season, probably his best ever as a total season.

I don't hate JJ, but I do hate "The Chase". All the races should count and whoever has the most point at the end wins. No more of this resetting the points because someone had too big a lead - that person earned them.

As for Danicrash, she cost me $5 on a bet that she wouldn't finish on the lead lap....damn yellows. I'm glad the hype around her is finally waning and she's showing she's nothing more than a backmarker.

JJ would've still won the championship this year and all previous years even without the chase. His worst finish in standings in his career has been 6th.

By the way, glad no one was hurt when Menard's tire exploded! Crazy, never seen that before

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I wasn't sure if his drive and speed drove him up, or if he was told he was clear, but wasn't.

Shesh, so much hate. I actually am starting to laugh at al the Danica haters out there. She is still doing better than a lot of other drivers out there. It is her first full season in Cup, and she only has ONE full season in Nationwide. Her experience on most of the typical Nascar tracks are less than most other drivers who went to Cup. Like I have mentioned before, she has a higher average finish than any other driver in cup history on their rookie year with only 1 season in Nationwide. That is facts, and you can look them up if you like. She is cutting her teeth. She just needs the experience.

Yes, I agree they should have had her do one or two more years in Nationwide, but her publicity and the sponsors thought otherwise. A little more time is all she needs. But go ahead, keep cracking your jokes and make your comments. I still challenge ANY of you to go out there, get into her car, and do ANY better than she is. I doubt a single one could. I used to race when I was younger, I KNOW how difficult it can be.

The racing was much better this year than in previous two years. There were minimal to no rivalry action on track, just talk, which was more tame than in previous seasons, other than that would you elaborate on why the season was so "crappy"? Just curious on others takes on the season, not being an ass.

It's more than just one year of NASCAR that she's underperformed - look at her Indycar career. One win in six seasons - in a fuel economy run. Still a win, but not a ringing endorsement of her driving. Don't forget the weekly temper tantrums when she wrecked or otherwise failed to finish.

As soon as she left Michael Andretti, they started winning races and Ryan Hunter Reay won the championship. Why - because their whole world didn't revolve around her, and the team benefited.

Danica is a marketer's dream - which is the only reason she is where she is. If she were a man she'd be lucky to be in the truck series.

You are sorely misinformed if you truly believe that. There are plenty of drivers in Nascar that have zero wins over several years. Only one person can win a race out of 43 drivers. Right now the winners are the ones who have been racing for quite a while. As I said, she has the best overall finish of ANY driver to enter Nascar as she has. The facts are there. It is not conjecture, or guessing. Look it up. I think personally the only reason so many people are giving her a hard time is BECAUSE she is a woman, and too many guys just can't believe that a GIRL can drive. She is doing a lot better than a lot of VETERAN drivers in Nascar when you look at the end results. But nobody wnats to look at that, they just think because she is a girl, she can't POSSIBLY drive. Hell, I won a bet already on here when someone said she didn't have the upper body strength to finish Daytona. And she was doing pretty damn good there. Sure she gets into wrecks. Show me one driver that HASN'T gotten into a lot of wrecks. This years champ, Jimmie, has been in his fair share over the past couple of years. It happens, and at tracks like Daytona and Talladega, you can't help it sometimes. I was at BOTH of the Dega races this year, and both times she was doing great until the end, when she got caught in the middle. Even the BEST drivers out there, when caught in the middle of "the big one" have said that at that point, you are just in for the ride, and there is nothing that can be done. She has talent, she just needs to hone it in a new series. Like I said, take the time to look up the facts. Not just what your opinion is of her.

Don't get me wrong - she's a good driver (you have to be to get to that level), but she's not as good as the hype makes her out to be. I was even a fan of her's before she $#!t all over Bobby Rahal (who brought her into the big leagues) and got full of herself. I was waiting for her to mouth off to Sarah Fisher or Simona DeSilvesto - they would have cleaned her clock.

There are better drivers that will never get a chance to get to that level because they can't bring the $$$. She has always had good equipment / teams because she brings the marketing $$$ with her, and the sole reason for that is she's a good looking woman in a "man's sport". Teams need the $$$ to run, so they want her to drive for them - simple as that.

Daytona and Talledega are car setup tracks, so a good car that stays out of the "big one" has a good chance at a decent finish. She did a good job at Daytona in February, but really didn't do much more than ride along in back the rest of the season (avg finish was 26th - 1 top 10 @ Daytona).

She was 263 points behind her boyfriend, who was also a rookie this season (avg finish 19 - 1 top 5 + 3 top 10).

Will she win a race or two, probably - will she ever make a run for a championship, probably not.

She also did a good job at Talladega both races. The shitter was getting caught up in the wrecks at the end. Both races she was solid top 10, and the fall race she was top 15 through 95% of the race. Even got as high as 3rd. I think she has plenty of skill, she just needs to hone it, like a lot of other drivers do.

Well first off Smoke got his leg broke, 2nd I am tired of seeing the ballerinas. I admit they are the class of the field but I don't care for jimmie nor do I really care for chad. Kennseth didn't win the championship but I think he had the better year.
