Everybody needs to calm the fuck down.

BamaToy, you're letting maximkaos put the Languanito on you. Let it go, chief.

Here's the deal. Danica can drive. She does have a lot of talent, but she is still a rookie and her open wheel habits will take time to break, but she will ultimately be successful I think. However, do I think that she is where she is because she's a woman? Partly yes. In today's motorsport money is king, the old "speed costs money", she is a marketing dream and brings a lot of cash to the table. Is she taking up a seat that a more deserving driver could fill? Maybe, but so is Paul Menard, he just has daddy's money behind him. She may never win a championship, or even a race for that matter, but she'll be here for a while.

That being said, THERE ARE 42 OTHER DRIVER'S RUNNING THIS SUNDAY!!!1!!11!!!ONE!!!1!!

Yeah, he does remind me of Laguanito. You are right. I admit I get bothered when people like to post half-information or half-truths to try and make things look like they are not. I will say I think she is out of her open-wheel mindset though. With a full season of Nationwide, and a partial season of Cup last year, she is ready. Do I think she will will the 500? Honestly I don't think she will. I sure want her to though, but then again, everyone wants their favorite driver to win. Does her fame have anything to do with her being in Cup this year? Yeah, I think it does a little. But her skill is what got her the ride. Publicity or not, there is no way Tony would put her in one of his cars if he didn't think she had the skill.

I will be looking forward to the race for sure. I just hope that she doesn't get caught up in an accident like so many of the other good drivers. Hell it took Dale Sr until 1998 to win his first Daytona 500 race, and NOBODY can doubt his skill at driving. I remember 2 different races where he was running in second, and got wrecked out. He had finished 2nd so many times I am surprised he didn't wrap his car around the flag podium in frustration!

One thing at Daytona, and if you haven't been there you just can't imagine, the banking is high, and the positions change from 1st to 30th within seconds. ANYONE can win the race if their car is in one piece. Danica just needs to either stay up front, or stay in the rear. That middle area is dangerous! Too many great drivers have had their Daytona 500 dreams go up in smoke being caught in the middle. And it ALWAYS happens. Daytona has never gone Wreck-free. I just miss being there for race week. Looking out the back door of the shop you could hear AND feel the races.

i did not come on here to offend anyone , i was merley stating my opinion when i said she does not have the upper body strength to handle one of those cars all day , i also said if i am wrong i will gladly eat the crow , now the above post some what agrees whith another thing i said when it comes to the marketing and money , from a business stand point it is very savy of jr and stewart to have her ,it is extremely hard these days to come by sponsorship money , not once did i say she could not drive or did i doubt her skill , i guess as the year goes on we will see how she fares , and if she succeeds Fantastic it would be good for the sport that the powers of nascar have almost ruined .

My biggest issue was your statement that she didn't have the upper body strength to do it. Yes she is doing it, and has done it. Her Nationwide 10th place finish proves it. We will see how she fares. I for one have been a long time fan, and will always be one.

For me it is not an appearance matter. I think she is a skilled driver and has a shot at a great career in Cup.

Horrible accident on last lap of the Nationwide race. Prayers with all of the people and family injured in the stands. God be with them all.

He was in like 7th before the final crash. I have no idea what the outcome was other than Tony Stewart won.

That was a pretty violent wreck to tear up the catch fence so much. Reminds me of Carl Edwards wrecking at either Daytona or Talladega and was literally riding the fence.
