They all do it... Guess they are all pussies. Bet you excuse when horse face races a truck rave and intentionally dumped crafton so his driver reddick could get the points lead... NO? Or how about a forced spin....NO? Perhaps causing the big one with no chance to win..NO? That's it. Their all pussies, and the new sport is kumbaya, and not racing.

Kenseth won't finish the next race. He's a bitch cause he isn't in the chase, if they were both in the chase I wouldn't care, but this is s whole new level. Different from all other scenarios you are appointing

Meh, play stupid games (dumping Kenseth when you're already in the next round), win stupid prizes (receiving payback).

I'd rather dump someone who blocked me for three laps and get a trophy than let another competitor in The next round. Just me though.

I get it, Logano isn't everyone's favorite driver but the guy has absolutely put on a show the last 4-5 races, and he hasnt been in the wrong in any of them.

People used to wreck people on purpose a lot more often than what goes on now. You know, back when racing was worth watching. And back before everyone was a little bitch if someone bumped them. Yea, there's a time and place to intentionally wreck someone.

Time: any time you're by them.
    Place: anywhere on the track.

Read or skip to the tl:dr...

I was busy making supper so I've not had time to read these emotionally heated comments until now (save for a brief comment). I've watched the replays and had time to think about everything that led up to this moment. I've considered that A) It's just a bunch of rich boys playing around and it shouldn't bother me one bit but also A1.5) it's big business. There's still B) Sport or not, it is never okay when someone is vindictive, holds grudges, retaliates at the expense of physically harming someone else. Perhaps others don't share my same southern church upbringing & morals, but I can't sit idly by when this stuff happens, be it sports, racism, classism, bullying, etc.

Yes, Joey Logano's career was mapped out for him from the get go and yes, his parents bankrolled it all, but so did the parents of Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Gordon, Paul Menard, Trevor Bayne, Kyle Larson, Kurt & Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Petty, Richard Petty, Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr, Danica Patrick, Jeb Burton, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jamie MacMurray, Michael Annett, Justin Allgaier, Kasey Kahne, and more. I'm probably forgetting some drivers, but the point is nobody got where they are in this sport on their own. And, no driver is better than another simply because their parents didn't plan their child's future from the get go. If you do feel this way, then your fanaticism is just that, Fanaticism. (warning, Tangent:) It is a business built on the Good 'ol Boy style of connections and our hard earned money. None of these guys are ever going to help us out in a time of need, but they need our money and they need our passion.

All these guys know it's a free for all when they fire up the engines. Yes, there is an honor system ( more accurately a caste system) among drivers, though it's rarely shared outside the garage. Going back to Kansas, what I saw (and many other longtime fans since the days of the big block cars) was what Bill Elliott called "just one of them racing deals." Matt and Joey were obviously the class of the field. Matt had clean air and the race was his to lose. Lap traffic was looming and Matt got into dirty air (not his fault, in the modern aero dependency state of the sport), Joey was closing at a high rate. Though risky, Matt pulled up to block, and rightly so. He was the leader, trying to win the race and lock his team into the next round. It was risky but he felt he had to make that move. He moved up, Joey moved up until there wasn't any more room. Joey scrubbed the wall but was still hauling butt. He tried to go low on Matt's car but he cut Joey off a second time. At this point Matt was in over his head. He was deeper than usual entering turn 1 and slower than usual. The physics of his car were way off. Try this on an NASCAR video game and you're going to have the same problem. The weight was shifted all wrong for a full speed entrance into turn 1. What I saw was Matt wreck himself off Joey's bumper. It was one of those racing deals, all be it one with very high stakes. It should've stayed there. Sure, Matt was right to be angry, but being a former champ and something like 20 years Joey's senior, he was in the position to be the bigger man and leave it at Kansas. Post-race Joey accepted more blame and said "yeah, we touched, yeah he spun. We're racing for a championship here." He fessed up. He didn't mince words.

Today Matt raced hard. I tuned in via Racebuddy so I could see multiple in-car cameras, a battle-cam and an overhead shot of the track. I pulled up MRN.com for less biased coverage of the race. Incident #1: Radio guy says they #2, #20 and somebody else were racing hard into the turns and Matt was squeezing the inside line so he could get better grip on the straights. I believe this because it's Matt's style. He's squeezed from the top since he filled in for Bill Elliott back in the late '90s. Brad was forced to hop the curb which got his car wonky. MRN guy said something to the effect of "Brad's having trouble and it looks like his right front toe is knocked out." About that time he bumped the 20 and the 20 bumped him back at which point I saw the #2's right front wheel assembly stop turning (youtube replay confirms). That's when hell broke lose and sent the 41 vaulting towards the inside wall. Tough call, but again, one of those racing deals. In the post race interview, Kyle Busch said something along the lines of "it shouldn't matter whose name is above the window, that's all I'm saying." I'm taking this out of context but the sentiment remains. Remove the names & numbers from Kes and Kenseth's cars and it was just another one of those racing deals.

Matt pitted. His front right assembly was broken, but they sent him back out to turn laps (Lord knows why, the thing couldn't turn). It's pretty obvious why actually. He slowed, waited for the #22, ran him all the way to the turn and drilled him just like he said he would weeks ago, before he recanted and said to the media that he was over it at Talladega. This was not one of those racing deals. When Matt was approached for comment he was all "Gee, I guess the right front must've gone down or something broke." NO BACKBONE. If you're going to hold a grudge for weeks and follow through with the action, at least fess up to your actions. Joey called Matt a coward and rightly so. Dale Earnhardt used to do the same thing all the time. When asked what happened he'd say "I hit him. I spun him out. I was trying to win." I never liked Earnhardt because of his dirty racing but at least he had the backbone to admit what he did. It was low. It was immature. Contrary to all the evidence, the system, etc., it is not what I expected nor wanted to see happen.

Matt's best days are over. He's feeling the pressure. Matt has long been a tough cookie to crumble but Joey rattled his cage more than Earnhardt, the Busch's or any other competitor ever did out there on the track. I have to give Joey some kudo's for doing that. Matt's response showed that he knows he's no longer one of the big dogs out there. I give him five years before he's gone. I bet he's questioning his own skill at this point; whether he has what it takes anymore to win clean. Shoot, where would he be if Joey hadn't left Gibbs for Penske? His career was nearly over at Roush. They couldn't even get any decent or full-time sponsors for the last two years he was over there.

tl;dr: They're all rich kids who started on parent's money. Take the names and numbers off the cars and what do you have? Kansas: One of them racing deals. Brad/Kurt/Matt: One of them racing deals. Matt v. Joey's left rear quarter panel: Not one of them racing deals.

Like the 1940s lol, I guess man. Hasn't been like that since before I was born. There's always been a drivers code and it's been the same since I started watching 30 years ago, what Kenseth did was cowardly, it's a shame he's considered champion.

No doubt there have been drivers that break that code (Kyle Busch) but it's a standard and it seems it's interpreted different ways

Kyle Busch said, post-race "NASCAR is really consistent at being inconsistent." Look at when they parked the #18 for that Hornaday incident, then they let the 24 go for punting the 15. He's got a point. He went on to say "I think it's all BS." Again, he's right.
