NASCAR ANYONE?

Same, I have a autographed Rusty Wallace car I picked up at a garage sale for like 5 dollars! Only old schoolers left in NASCAR are Mark Martain, and Shcrader, although I am not so sure he even races anymore.

 

Well...here we go again. If they ever get to start this race, how long does it take Danica to hit the wall again?

 

Ya its pouring there. Id say it go into the night. She'll crash in the first 2 laps.

Rex , why does NASCAR not race in the rain ?

 

they've run a couple of nationwide races in the rain, using rain tires and adding windshield wipers, but only on road courses.

honestly, i have no idea why they haven't tried cup races in the rain, or even oval races in the rain. my guess is that the cars have enough of a problem with understeer, that they worry rain would just make them uncontrollable.

a better alternative would be to continuing to wait out the rain. i don't know what the weather is supposed to look like later, but the track has lighting to run night races. the daytona 500 is their biggest race of the year, and by moving it to noon on Monday, they effectively eliminate a HUGE portion of potential viewers.

 

this blows. went down to the track, got in our seats, and it started pouring.

Got home an hour ago ish. glad to see we made the right choice to come home.

Dunno if were goin back tomorrow.

probably both. unlike f1, nascars have no driving aids like traction control, so they have a big problem with understeer. i'd imagine rain would only make it worse.

daytona would be a tough track to try to race in the rain based on visibility. with the two car draft, the second car in line has a hard enough time seeing, let alone having it rain. plus the spotters would have a hard time seeing, which (to nascar) poses a safety hazard.

i think it has something to do with the moisture getting into the electronic parts. the cars are not sealed like the F1 cars. i wish they would run the cars in the rain. maybe we could see some different winners.

i think the "no driving aids" in nascar is more just for a lack of evolution.

hell, they are just now switching to fuel injection for 2012...

 

Craziest 500 I've ever seen.

I was giving Danica around 30 laps before she wrecked. I underestimated her suckitude. But I did laugh. A lot. If only Kryle Bitch would have been involved in it, it would have been almost perfect.
