    ...too much shit to list.
    Side by side by side.
Explains why I might have to shorten my driveshaft with the 50T.

OK I'll hold off for a little bit. I'll take my frustration out by plasma'ing spare tire holes into my bed.

But yeah our leaf mounts are all different. Weird.

That must mean all 3 of you have a different position for the tire in the wheel well, which would results different points rubbing and positions for bump location/height relative to the top of the wheel well no? :notsure:

So anyway, I notched my frame. Laptop died so I cant upload pics right now, but I took out about 3/4" from where the shackle hits. My reasoning is that if there is no solution to my leaf puzzle, I can still run it the way it is without worrying about rubbing. If there is an explanation for my leafs, no harm done.

Heres the notch in my frame. Haven't ground it down yet so it looks rough. Just stuck a piece of pipe in the notch to seal it up.

Yep. It actually only goes into the frame about 1/4", maybe a little more. And goes up to bump nicely.

Started mocking up shocks for becage building.
In a moment of mental weakness, I cut the holes in my bed without thinking of the shock angle. I angled it back so that I can fit my bumpstop directly over the axle, and for the angle I was like, "here ish".
Anyway, I have 18" shocks so vertical would be best, but its at 9 degrees off vertical to the back.
Heres some pics, so judge away. If anything is out, let me know because now is the time to change it.

Why do you have them angles backwards?

I know JD, and a few others have had good luck controlling axle wrap and what not by mounting them 3-4" off the rear of the axle (some more) and then angled forward.

I angled them back so I could fit my bumps over the axle. Also, having them angled back slightly will be more directly in line with the movement of the axle, as the axle moves back as it cycles up.

im really liking this build. i will be coming here when doing my rear LT.

also curious to differences with mounting shock angled forward, or backward

Yeah thats why I'm asking here, not sure if angle matters. It shouldn't really make a difference when its this close to vertical. But I figured I'd double check.

Well 1:1 is ideal for shock Valving, as the more angle the harder it becomes to tune them etc.

I'm trying to find the real explaination for why you should angle them forward.

In regards to the bump issue, there really shouldn't be one, how far off the frame are you mounting them? You could also look into what Infamous Metal Works did on one of their 1st Gen builds. I'd post pics but I'm on my phone.

The shocks are mounted 2" off the axle, so I might be able to go vertical.
I dont really want to patch the holes and cut new ones but it wouldnt be the end of the world. Or mount the shocks father off the axle. I dont have my bumps yet so I dont know how much room they need.
