As far back as I have been able to find is my 9th great grandfather, William Wardrobe was born in Edinburgh, Scotland around 1638. Died in Virginia 1690. So my family has been in America for over 300 years. There's been alot of other nationalities mixed in along the way. Kinda funny how a name changes, we spell it Waldrop now. My grandfather was born a Waldrep. His wife and his brother's wife had it changed to Waldrop. My 3rd GGF is buried in the second county over from here. I also found out that I'm a direct decendant of Geoffery Chaucer, he's my 19th GGF. ancestry.com has alot. genweb.com has lots of cemetary info.

As a descendent of a Connecticut militiaman conscripted to the Continental Army, I think I am entitled to consider myself of American ancestry. My children certainly understand that they are of American descent and nationality. They know they have genes of many nationalities in their pool, but they know they are first and foremost Americans.

I don't really care how many bastard nationalities a person has in their lineage. If they are born to a country and they hold that country and it's beliefs above all others, they are of that country's nationality.

    I'm a freaking American.

That said: German, English, Welsh, Irish.
