Recently sold my "Built" 2007 Toyota Tacoma DCLB Prerunner. Swapped out the LSD with a ARB rear locker, had a 3" lift, sliders, aluminum pelfreybilt front bumper, Frontrunner Rack, and a couple Rigid LEDs..

Only went offroad 5% of the time, and only 1% of that time, I needed 4x4. I had the opportunity of get a 4R at a small discount, so with the Boss's approval, I went with it.

    Here is the truck:

Picked up the 4R today (10/31/15)... bought the PRO rims from the dealer, and had them swap right away. Next up was a tire swap over to the 275/70/17 KO2s.

    Off the Boat:

With Rims and ready to go home:

I do like the front grill of the T4R PRO.. Some $$, but I like it a lot..

Since the cover went on, I thought I may as well try and spray the lower piece. I tried the first time to dip it on the truck, but the line came off bad... I decided to take the piece off, and dip it separate.. Did the rear as well..

The the Front Runner Roof rack came in. I did get the 8" extended version. It covers the sun roof by a bit, so the wind deflector needed to go on the 2nd plank rather than the front one.. Have a little bit of rattle coming from the sun roof... Have some rubber stripping coming from Front Runner to see if that cures it.. Other wise, I'll try and move the deflector to the front and see if that makes a difference. No rattle when the moon roof is even cracked.. I think it is the wind hitting the rack, then bouncing off the glass.. Will update as I do some R&D... If you don't have the sunroof, you would have ZERO problems with the extended version.

Also added a custom TRD Trail Edition sticker... (adds 10HP)

Nice! Where's the obligatory flex pic? Does the KDSS make a noticeable difference? Was it worth it?

Haven't done the flex pic yet... Will be taking it off road in a couple weeks.. just too busy otherwise... I need to drive a non-KDSS again, but it does feel very solid on-road. The one thing I do hear is that on-road is where it shines compared to a non-KDSS..

Always worth it I guess... Servco only brings in trails with the KDSS, and I wanted the locker, so, no other option... but I did actually want the KDSS after reading the pros and cons...

    Thanks...

Yes and no.. Truck was not 4x4, but 4x4 would have been nice 4 times out of 8 years.. This rig will see more off road time than the truck did, as the kids are a little older now to enjoy camping... I think out of everything, I miss the LB... having the bed there is awesome.. didn't always need it, but it was there if I ever did.. But having a close to 6' front runner will help out... Guess the true test is when we go camping in a couple weeks, and seeing how i'm gonna fit all (the wife's) crap into the 4R...
Driving wise... no comparison... the 4R drives way better then the truck did..

I think essentially the KDSS is a sway bar disconnect, so you would notice your truck being better off-road compared to a non-KDSS.

4Runners are awesome. It was my first choice but I couldn't afford it at that time. Next vehicle will be a runner.

Thicker swaybar also, so supposed to feel more solid on-road... definietly feels solid...

Lol.... as much as my bleeding wallet will allow and just shy of having the wife ask for a separation.... wait.. this is "her" 4R..... I just drive it more.. lol

Nice! I'm starting the build on my 2016 Trail Edition. Not moving quite as fast as yours but I'll get there eventually.
