Just bought my first Tacoma 2014 access cab sport.
I don't think that I have the navigation system but can the display show things like mpg, compass and outside air temp.? This thing is confusing compared to our CRV.
    Thanks
    Jeff

No outside air temp and no MPG for sure. There's a compass if you have nav, but I'm not 100% sure if the non-nav ones have it.

compas and air temp would be in the mirror. if you have nav it would say so on it. There are products that will allow your phone screen to show up on the radio screen as a mirror (i have one installed)

My 98 Dakota was able to tell me air temp and MPG, but Toyota can't figure out how to do it in 2014. Now when ever it decides to download I get temp is at at some place else that reports the weather.

The Entune weather feature sucks if you live outside the city. I ended up getting a mirror from Bob for my 2015 that has GPS direction and Temp.

The only cool thing about Entune is you can view live weather maps but again, you gotta be in or around a city.

They discontinued the compass/temp mirror in 2013. So those of us with 14/15's are stuck with entunes weather app, which as previously stated sucks if you're nowhere near an HD radio staion.

OP, there are ways to rectify this, just search the site. Most common way is Bobs homelink mirrors. Though this will require you to run a temperature sensor through the firewall.

Bobs shows several that are Plug & Play. Would you still need to drill the firewall?

You won't need to drill the firewall. I haven't done it myself, but I believe there is a grommet/boot providing access to the engine bay around the brake pedal (someone else confirm?) that the existing wire loom utilizes. And unless I'm further mistaken, the 14/15's should already have power in the headliner, but is lacking a hook up for temperature sensor. Hence running one through the firewall to in front of the radiator is recommended.

As far as I am concerned the salesman at David Maus Toyota lied to me when he said this truck has navigation. After buying the truck he explained that it connects through the phone and after 45 min failed to get it to work. Even after a second trip out to the dealer, no nav. I am not happy wIth David Maus Toyota. Now i am wondering if the extra warranty they sold me was a lie as well
