    Hello,

Has anyone tried to hack the factory head unit to allow passengers or driver to use the navigation and other options while the vehicle is moving? I'm assuming to do this you would probably need to ground, splice, or tap some wires from the head unit to get it to think it's not moving. However, I don't know what wires are for what behind the the unit and I would like to be able to wire it to a switch so that I could toggle between the two "modes". any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    Not enough...
Doing this mod would disable your GPS speed sensor. I guess you can add a switch and flip it on/off as needed. Check that 2nd gen thread posted above

Would be nice to have. The voice recognition system sucks especially when you're driving at highway speeds too much road noise. It's pretty much useless in my experience. It works about 50% of the time.

You have to teach it to recognize your voice...

Or you can try talking like a 16 year old high school student that is barely going through puberty and then it will work.

I already did the voice recognition setup process. It does not work well. Maybe my voice is too deep?

Agreed, 80% of the time it can't understand me either. I've chalked it up to damn-near-useless.

It could be. I'm hoping that they developed the voice recognition with the mindset that there would be some interference and noise while driving. It could be that they don't have noise cancelling inside the cabin....
