I'm currently Air Force, but I'll always be Navy...
LCDR, Naval Aviator. Started OCS in OCT 95, commissioned FEB 96 at NAS Pensacola. Started flight school in 96 at NAS Corpus, winged in 99 at NAS Kingsville. CVN-72 from 99-2003 with VRC-30 in San Diego. Instructor for VT-21 until 2006 in NAS Kingsville. Shifted to reservist and continued to instruct at VT-21 until 2012. Shifted over Texas Air National guard and called back to active duty in 2012-2014. Passed 20 years in OCT of 15. My only regret in 20 years is leaving the Navy. I'll always consider myself Navy, even though my retirement will say Air Force

Were you there when Bush landed on the Lincoln? Haha
Looks like you were on the gulf side of Shock and Awe, I was on the Med side on the Roosevelt. If I remember correctly there were four carriers, two in the Med, two in the gulf and one would fly days and the other nights. We flew nights, I was an airframer on days getting them back up and ready for night ops. (VFA-87)

I actually have a neighbor who was an aviation ordnance man on the Lincoln when Bush did his sideshow...

Other way around. Prior Nuke gone conventional back in 2007. Had to actually earn these anchors!

Oh they do. It was just a jab, for nukes (like I was) we call rank hereditary right. I am super conscious to people taking offense, so if you are maybe just poking back you gotta let me know.

Nah, I'll be honest. The day I turned 22 my mom died. I was on humanitarian reassignment and didn't have Sub staffed medical facilities around me with knowledge of sub specific limitations. They put me on an anti-depressant for just about 3 months. Before I knew it I was an unrated PO1 picking a rate or getting out.

I had a good buddy in the EOD world. Lost him a couple of years ago in a bike accident. Real good dude. All of you special programs guys get my nod. Thanks for letting guys like me even have a chance to do what I do, and most importantly for being just down right cool.

Why yes I was. Say what you want about the man, but I had a lot of respect, and still do, for him
