if he still has the bolt on after the y-pipe...right under the front passenger seat...then it should be an easy unbolt and swap. as long as the exhaust hasnt been chopped and welded where the exhaust and y-pipe connect its no prob.

OP, look or take a pic and make sure the exhaust bolt up is still there after the y-pipe

the muffler was welded in the stock position so the flange is still there. They said they would have to cut it into three pieces and weld it on the new truck. I would assume they would cut it right after the muffler and the two pipes would just weld back into place on yours. As for the stock it should just slide off and right back on I would think...

I don't really see a way to get the muffler off with the two rear pipes still attached. But, cutting this one and two welds hopefully wouldn't be too expensive.

I was just thinking. If we get the truck on a lift and the axle drops a little we may be able to just unbolt it and pull it off. The drivers side pipe is in there between the spare and the axle so I'm not sure if that would work. Know anybody that has a lift? Or does anybody have experience with this?

09AFT, if you know someone that will let us use their lift we can probably get it off without cutting it. I won't say that with any kind of certainty but it looks like the flex of the suspension when you lift it may allow us to slide it out. If you want it I would pick out a shop close by where we try that can cut it and re-weld it as a back-up plan...

The only thing I can think of that may need to be welded if we can get it off would be the drivers side hanger.

i have my stock exhaust sitting in my garage... was only on the truck for around 200 mi. i live in Dover DE. but travel down to MD often. if you were willing to take a trip up to the eastern shore to pick it up it would be cheap.

I may have missed this but I assume you are willing to pay for the removal of the stock exhaust and install on your truck and the other party would do the same for their truck. Am I correct? This seems easy enough to do at Midas or one of the local Muffler shops. I did this once with a Dodge Ram and it only cost $90 per party to transfer the exhaust.

would the series be printed directly on the muffler somewhere? if so, all you'd have to do was go look at it under the truck to tell which one

Trading for one already off the truck would be perfect. As far as putting the stock on and taking the flowmaster off I was hoping to do that on my own. Worst case I would have to pay for someone to do it.
