If the day comes that I am in another accident I'm taking the check and buying back the truck and making it turtle down the trails! Didn't do it with the last one because I wanted a manual transmission and shorter wheelbase

Dis one clean til I have a DD! I saw that same runner listed along with a pickup the other day. Guy was trying to trade them both for a different pickup. Btw, good read on the transfer case!

I really need an old 4runner like that. I'm afraid it would negatively affect the amount of time I spend in my Tacoma though.

Hey, I am not trying to jack the thread but quick question on the mudflaps wearing on the truck. Where does it wear? How does it wear? And should I take mine off, then put them back on when I go wheeling? Again sorry, but Sweet Truck and Nice thread!

You don't want mud flaps while wheeling. They get ripped off too easily.

The part that wears is if you look at where the mud flap touches the outside edge of the fender flare. I bet if you remove the mud flap you'll see what I'm talking about

Thanks for the heads up! So I should just eliminate the mud flaps all together?

That's your choice. I like the look of mud flaps on the back of trucks and in PA they are required to pass inspection

In CA we dont need them. But I left them on for function as far as flinging rocks. I will have to figure out what to do lol. Sorry for the mini thread jack... Your trucks look sick, sorry about the old one

its not like the damage they cause is visible... the mudflap covers it so you'll never see the wear marks unless you remove the mud flaps.

they definitely keep the truck cleaner on rainy days and shit like that.

I cut mine down when I was still able to use them and I liked how they looked. I used the rear with the "4x4" logo as a guide. I cut that off and rounded the edges and then used the cut off part as a guide for the front ones. I think it was around 4" removed, they never got ripped off while wheeling or anything. Just can't use them now with clearanced fenders

Trying to find an all black leather seat kit that isn't 1000 bucks is almost impossible! Keep checking the CST discount page but it says it hasn't been updated since April...

Yeah and I'm only doing it if I get the kit cheap. Sliders, roof rack, and exhaust are next in line

Still thinking Prinsu but may just go with Thule. I'm deciding if I'll use the Prinsu enough to justify the cost

the one thing i don't like about the thule rack is that i caught a cross bar end on a tree once. thats also part of why BGR's truck was totaled. his yakima rack caught the tree and ripped the roof open like a can opener.

And that is my worry with those! The Prinsu setup I want is like $800! That's a fuckload of dough to spend on something that'll be used only about twice a month

That's like 30 bucks every time ya use it for the first year, and the cost only gets cheaper the longer you have it. Just think how much a replacement cab would cost if you bust the roof open like BGR
