I go there every time I climb Shasta....well if I summit any way. I've climbed it enough that if I go I'm gonna summit so it's kind of a given.

 

Don't know why, but I've yet to go there! Will have to give it a look very soon

 

Last time I was there he said he was starting to distribute in Redding. Might look around.

He has an excellent barley wine.

I like red ales! High abv usually too!

 

It's pretty good and $3 per 20oz for happy hour. I'm glad I walked. 40oz of highish alcohol beer!

FogBelt in Santa Rosa has a fantastic red IPA.
Crooked Goat in Sebastopol has a great IPA called HopFog; but you have to wade past all the fruit tainted beers to find it. i HATE fruited beers for the most part.

and Cooperage..i just discovered it. it is a fun place. i only had one beer that was GREAT, but i forget what it was..they all have cool names. like "LT-Dang". food truck was parked outside..dogs allowed everywhere..even inside.

 

Big fan of Fogbelt. I'll drive right past Russian river to go there.

I've heard of Cooperage but I haven't been yet. Is that also in Santa Rosa?

 

I feel like the North Bay has a ton of breweries compared to the south bay. Is that more or less accurate?

Suggestions are great, but how about some actual going to breweries and some pics.

 

Maybe it’s the direct link between the flannel shirts, beards and climate?

Thanks! For some reason I haven't checked out many of my local breweries.

I cook for a living and I like to do this thing where I pick a style of food and eat that for 3 or 4 months whenever I go out to eat. The last time was Korean for 3 months straighg. I didn't really keep track of where I went.

I think this time around I'll focus on Breweries and actually keep track of where I went via this thread.

 

I've been there when I used to work in San Jose. Unfortunately it was for work so I didn't get to drank any beers.

 

Unfortunately they don’t have food, but they do have a food truck out front sometimes. Mogo food truck is there a lot, and it’s Korean so it’s a 2fer for you.

Meeting with a vendor and my company didn't allow that during company time.
