Did it up this way. Works for me. Wish I could have done it like everyone else. Cleaner. Thanks ND4 and if you have any other advice is gladly accept.

I got a question I already did the fog light mod works awesome. Is there a way to always have the plug in the bed always on or it just works with the truck on?

Are you talking about the ac plug? Yes there is a way... Search 400 w anytime mod. That stated if you do it that will make my fog light mod to where you could turn the fogs on without the key as well.

yup will work for any year tacoma, there are slight differences between the years but your 2012 should be identical (granted you have a trd OR or sport)

Ok so I just did the mod but when I went to switch the key to the ON setting the AC inverter was lit up in the truck and when I pressed the AC inverter button it went off but wouldn't light up again. The fogs are working anytime I press the button like they are supposed to as long as the key is in the ignition. Do I not have the AC relay pressed in far enough?

Does the switch reset for the AC inverter each time the fuse is pulled?

I double checked the ac dc fuse and took off the connectors and plugged back into the slot. My inverter wasn't lighting up in the bed so I think I blew the fuse or the fuse is bad now.

I'm having the same DTRL issues as some of the other dudes on here. I noticed this morning my DTRL are not working and I wired up just like the op. I have 2012 TRD OR 4x4

start checking fuses.... this mod doesnt effect the way the inverter works at all, it simply pulls from an hot on ignition source to power the relay.

DTRL issues.... you gotta be in drive without the parking break on for DTRL's to come on

I'll check fuses tomorrow. I thought the DTRL turn on whenever the engine is on no matter what gear :notsure:

there is so much confusion on the DTRL's depending on the years, truth be told i dont know for a fact but im pretty sure like others have found in this tread that the DTRL's come on once you take the parking break off and possibly in drive.

This mod as stated before, has nothing, touches nothing, and should not effect anything with the DTRL's

Just be careful to peeps with a 2012 TRD OR 4x4. Wired up just like in the op and looks like I blew a fuse on the inverter. Should've checked for a hot on ignition source before I put the ac-doc switch and the male blade into the same connector.

you probably shorted the constant hot with something when you inserted the extra connector n relay in the socket.

Either way, she working out now?

Just completed the mod. Just a helpful tip for anyone trying this. I cut the brown male blade connector so it would fit into the outside slot of the relay but still touch the relay. I tried jamming both the male blade and relay into the same spot and ended up destroying the relay in the process. Cut the male connector (brown wire) down about half way and it should share the same spot as the relay just fine  thanks Nd4
