you could but i think in posts back, i looked at the wiring diagram and the tail / parking relay is located inside of the truck which would make it kind of a pain to get to. And like stated the mod is 100% reversible for a reason

In all honesty, this is sooooo simple, it isn't even funny. The hardest thing about doing this is getting the relays out.

I could say the same thing about playing a guitar. To me it is as simple as going to the bathroom. Some things are easier for some people than others

Not a very good analogy. If you can operate plyers & look at 2 pictures you can do this. Im lucky if I can play guitar on my radio.

Yeah, it's ANNUAL. Again, not sure if it would sneak by; havent watched the inspector i go to actually tries the fog w/o regular beams. But they're in the buiness to make money, and also have to fear a state police sneak audit.
It's well known that out of state buyers get used cars from one-owner VA drivers as we put up with so much $hit each year. E.g. Maryland only inspects upon owner chg. Edit: You actually can have edtra lights installed (eg off road/light bars...) but they must have covers for road use.

Thanks for a great mod! This is the first thing I did to my truck and it was super easy. I looked at several ways to do this, but yours was the easiest and its the 100% reversible.

I am not the handiest person ether, but I brought the relay into my local hardware store and showed the description on this thread. They gave the correct wires and fittings and I finished the mod in no time.

I have a question! First off, merry Christmas to all!

I have a 2014 tacoma trd sport and when I opened the relay box ( I have the smaller boxes one ) there are three blue relay. The third on is located in the right hand corner when looking down on in. Can just try the mod out and see what happens? Thanks in advanced!

Just have a look at the underside of the lid of the relay box, it should explain what each relays / fuses function is. If im not mistaken that is for seat heaters? Either way i doubt they moved the location of the fog light relay but just double check.

Awesome thread, thanks!!!! I used the Towing Tail relay (pin 3) on my 2011 TRD Sport and it works great. With the lights on park, low beam or high beam, I've now got fog light options. Can't run the fogs with only the daytime running lights using this method, but I wasn't looking for that option personally.

Pretty straight forward - if I can do it, anyone can!!! I was initially a little concerned about the wire colours and making sure I got them in the right place, until I realized that other than the brown wire, the rest just go straight into the same place the pins on the relay went... On mine, the Towing Tail relay was easy to access as there was no other relay directly below it. The brown wire jumps from the #1 pin on the Fog Light Relay to the #3 pin on the Towing Tail relay (closest to the bottom of the image).

^ Pics are worth a thousand words!!! thanks for that contribution!

(note the above picture is on a 2011 that does not have the external relay box that the 2012+'s have hence why his fog light relay was within the main fuse box but same mod can be applied without issue to 2012+'s)

Installed Cooper At/3's (265/70R16) and ProComp 7089 Rims. Tinted front windows. Did the Fog Light Anytime mod. Did the tailgate mod. Added running boards. Adding sound Deadening from RAAMaudio. Replacing stock speakers with Polk Audio DB6501's.
Thanks for the great mod!! I used the A/C fuse in the main engine box. Fog lights come on when I want them, go off when ignition is turned off.

Only down side is, fog lights go off if you turn off the heater fan inside the cab (which I never do).
