I would just ask for a dollar to help cover sending them. I'll send as many as you'd like up to 10. Thanks.

Just completed this! Thank you! It is amazing that we have to go to such lengths just to gain control over the components of our own property. Next up, gain control of those pesky DRL's and chimes and beeps!

I still have about 30-40 piggyback relays for anyone who wants to buy some. I'd just ask for a dollar or two to cover shipping. Thanks.

    Thanks ND4,

Just did this mod today on my 2015 TRD OR.
    Works great and no codes.
    Much appreciated.

I modded my fog lights following this original post a few months ago and they worked perfectly, however, I just noticed the fog lights are no longer working with the fog switch on or off (with the ignition on).

The AC/DC Converter switch lights up and I tested the outlet which works fine. So should I assume the fog light relay has gone bad??

**Update: I confirmed the fog light fuse was blown, replaced it with a new one and it also blew as soon as I pressed the fog switch.

Any ideas what could have changed causing the fuse to blow? I'm using LED fogs from Jumper. I also recently changed my license lights to LED.

Something is shorting out, Double check all your connections because if they are proper it will not blow fuses... mine has been in my truck untouched since i made this thread 2.5 years ago without issue.

If you need the piggy back ones let me know. If you ordered them already and need one or two more let me know too.

UPDATE: Resolved! Apparently the actual LED bulbs were touching the fog light housing causing a short. These bulbs have a metal casing. I reinstalled and then centered them in the housing and now I'm good to go. Hope this helps someone else.

And there we go! its usually something simple, luckily we have fuses on alot of things to make the failures not cause catastrophic damage.

Just completed this mod, it's awesome and very easy using the OP. Thanks for a great write up. What if I wanted to cut my fog lights on and off at any time? Where would I grab my 12v?

at anytime meaning key out of the ignition turning them on?

You could easily do it by grabbing another constant hot from the relay socket. Essentially you would make a 1 male to 2 female blade connector for use in the always hot 12v spot of the foglight relay, one of the females would go to the same blade as before (main power to the fogs) the other would go to the switch side of the relay (where the brown wire in my mod goes to)

No, just turn them on if I want them, or off if I don't. I had to use the EFI RELAY to grab my power because I don't have the converter relay. So my fog lights are on of my truck is on. I can't turn them off unless I go to hi-beam?

Suggest you place a 2~5 Amp fuse or a smaller gauge (22~18 Awg) where the white is...just saying...:bananadead:

So I noticed a problem tonight. I don't have fogs on low beam. Any other time I do, just not low beam headlights. Any ideas?

What did you hook up to in this mod? Which relay? Sounds like you hooked up to a relay that opens when on low beams.
