ND4's Fog Light Anytime Mod... NO splicing, No Bending, 100% reversible

    Did the super stealth mod., took about 30 min.
    No DC relay, so I went to the EFI relay, I notice it stays energized for about 40 seconds after I turn the engine off, so I get driveway illumination as a bonus.
    I ran the wire out the main fuse box through the wire loom hole into the small relay box through the wire loom hole.

    I did this mod this past weekend. Easiest and quickest mod to date for me.

    The only odd thing was my DRL's did not work after doing the mod, but they worked in the corner/parking light mode. I drove my truck home and tested again and they were working. I'm guessing something is reset when you pull those relays?

    I have a 2006 Taco what would be the best easiest circuit plug to hook the green hot wire up close by with the male tab somewhere in the AC/DC iqnition relay box? I'm not sure what to call it because electrical stuff under the hood confuses me. I always get lost trying to figure out the wires even the color coded ones and what terminals to plug into? I guess it's that relay box filled with all the accessories that turn on with ignition switch whatever that's called. You know I probably don't want to short circuit my truck's electrical system nor wear down the battery. I will definitely disconnect battery before doing this in the first place. What about finding the radio relay or fuse under the hood and plug in there? Any other choices would be fine too. It looks like the fog light relay just lays on it's side in that little compartment with all those extensions coming out of it. I think I can handle the three wires but that 4th green wire for the power I need to be careful with. Thanks.

    Are you OR? If so see page one. You don't have to travel outside the fog relay tray. If not go here see pic.

    Then just connect the others with the jumper with both male and female adapters. Don't dosconnect your battery there is no need. The other thing is you'll need a flat head screw driver to open the female side of the hot leg to allow both the bent prong and the original (relay) prong into the plug.

    Don't know what you mean by OR? I see the pic looks pretty good. Not sure what relay you are connecting jumper wire to. It is probably an ignition switch powered relay. The gauge wire is 18 or 20?

    It's the EFI relay. When you take the cover off all the relays are labeled on the underside of the cover.
    16awg wire.

    Ok. No my 2006 Taco is the SR5 TRD Sport.
    Doesn't EFI take a while to cycle down after ignition turned off so fogs would be on for a few minutes. I guess it would be a sort of dimming light eventually go out to light my way into garage. The earlier thread mention this I believe about the EFI. What about any reset problems when relay is pulled to attached the jumper and then plug back in.
    Is the 18 gauge wire acceptable to use with the voltage of relay? Thanks.

    I guess I am afraid when I tap into EFI since that control the fuel system if it fails due to short or something in relay I could be stranded somewhere. But the earlier thread did say the jumper was going to have a male end tap that would have to be cut narrow to fit in the slot to share with one of the prongs from the EFI relay?

    This is correct you need to snip the male end a bit on one side for the ground. Also correct mine take about 10 seconds to turn off. No issues with unplugging the relays. At least my dash didn't light up like a Christmas tree. So I think it's good to go. Fuel gauge works fine. Stick with 16awg

    I didn't do that either. Is that something that should be done to prevent water from getting on the connectors? Mines been like that for almost a year.

    Just to prevent any possibility of a short. If one of those blades breaks loose and touches the switched ground you have a big awg wire feeding through a small awg wire and thats no bueno.

    Just for safety, you dont want an electrical fire.
