Ever since i bought my tacoma, i hated that the fogs would turn off while switching to high beam. I wired everything up as stated and they work just how i want now! Thank you OP for this great thread!

Mine is illuminated when the parking lights are on or the headlights. Not DRL. I haven't done the MOD yet but plan to knock it out soon.

you are just noticing backlighting because the switch is pushed in. The mod has nothing to do with an activated light or the backlight of the button.

FYI stock there is no activated light only the backlight of the dash when the headlights are set to parking or headlight on.

no even before mod when fogs were on with my regular headlights the button wasn't illuminated, i know it haves nothing to do with the mod. just weird how it turned on out of no where today. and just wanted to know if originally turns on other tacomas

Hey just a heads up, if you go to a dealer or a strict inspection place revert these back to normal. The shop I took my truck to get aligned offered to do an inspection after I dropped it off so two birds one stone..but got a call later saying he’d pass it this time but not next time cuz I’d have to fix the wiring for the fogs.

Knocked out the anytime fog mod using this method. Oh and all these TW members talking about state vehicle inspections really makes me appreciate the old Hoosier state. I can walk into the BMV and title a VIN plate with out any questions. hahaha :)

    nice!

yeah its funny, living in california, we only have smog inspections. No actual vehicle safety inspections what so ever.... you should see some of the clapped out vehicles on the road.

Thanks to the OP, I just completed this mod on my 2015. I decided to take off the plastic on the connectors and heat shrink the entire wire/connector. I was afraid of any loose wire lol.
