Hey guy’s, I did mine today and was really happy. Like I said I do need this mod because of the amount of drive that I’ve been doing. Thanks

Did mine yesterday and used an add-a-fuse to tap into the EFI fuse. Works great, however I checked my driveway camera and sure enough they turned on for a minute at 0143 hours last night. Not a big deal, but I might try a different source that won't do that.

I just went out and moved the add-a-fuse from the EFI location to the AC (Air Conditioning) spot and they seem to be working fine.

Also, for those wondering whether the EFI will turn them on randomly. This was last night at 0143.

Can anyone help me out here? I feel foolish now going for the splice option, but I quick tapped into the ac inverter 12V. No fogs, whether lights on/off.

Don’t know why you’d go that option, but I think that quick tap it too big for that wire gauge. Does the inverter work?

Hence my foolishness. It does, AC still kicks in. It’s a 18-14awg tap.

Just to be clear... When you say “AC kicks in” do you mean Air Conditioning? The AC inverter relay is for the 110v outlet in the the bed.

Someone else can confirm the stock wire gauge but I think it’s 20-22awg.

Can you tell I’m outta my depth, lol. I’ll have to check the bed outlet, but I do get lights for the AC switch in the cab. I’ll look around for proper wire gauge. Thanks.

Realized I had everything to do this. Spent 10 minutes yesterday and pumped it worked so simply. Ordered up better connectors so I can clean this up today.

Help please. My AC relay has 4 spade connections. Does the bent spade connector on the brown wire double into the box with the relay? Thanks

Yup, both spades will end up down in the female socket of the spade connector that is the bottom most in that picture of the AC relay. GO SLOW when putting the AC relay back in as it will be a TIGHT fit with two spades in there.

This mod is perfect!!! I love that it can go back to factory with no issue if ever need be. Took longer to go get the parts to do it than it did to install. Kudos for figuring this one out

I just did the "bent prong to acc source" with an inline 5a fuse that took a whole 5 minutes on my 2008 with all in one fuse box. All I need to do is yank the wire and straighten the prong to go back to factory. No worry about fogs popping on and off during the night. Quick and simple.
    Fogs only:

Did this mod about 6th months ago and just this week I noticed it quit working. I investigated the relay box first and discovered this below.

Is it as simple as something touched together and caused the burning? Or is it a deeper issue? Where do I check to make sure all is functioning correctly.

I remade that connector strand but this did not solve the issue. Will I need to replace this relay box? Thanks for any help!
