I've not been to Arcadia in a couple years, but if I recall correctly NONE of the off-road roads are open to vehicles and all have gates. However, there are a few smooth dirt roads around the area getting from point A to point B. But I don't know for certain what's what these days. Hunting Orange a MUST however. I do remember a sand pit area and I THINK it had truck wheel tracks all over it.

    Well that will suck.

@colin_j1 I just emailed the RI DEM and just asked them. I read somewhere that they close trails from Septemeber - June of the next year because of mudding and ice.

I'm going to wait on there response before heading up there.

Damn, well let me know either way. I'd even considering going to the spot that is frequented in Northern RI but have never been so would want to go with someone, not ride with just have someone lead me through

I'm new to this thread, just moved to RI from UT and I would love to get in on an outing. @colin_j1 let me know if you guys head up to the Northern RI spot this week and wouldn't mind another tagalong.

Welcome and sorry for the move from UT to the right coast. Opportunity for 4x4 use is pretty slim in the Northeast, especially southern New England

Yeah, defiantly not as much opportunity to get lost out here, but still excited to see what I can find, and then plan some extended trips and what not.

@ZIB @colin_j1 lets go on the safer side and just go to the northern RI spot tomorrow. Keep in mind alot of rain today and it will be 51 tomorrow so alot of it is going to melt and be tricky mud but it should be beautiful up there.

Half the trail is closed because of winter but its still about an 8 miles course that should take about 2 hours. Then add 20 minutes to that because were going to stop at the climbing pit that @jjsul loves so much

Lets meet at the Dunkin Donuts in Chepachet for 11AM. Its right by Dinos park and shop. Grab a coffee or a dunkachino then head out. This is about a 10 minute ride to the trails. Address is below:

    1006 Putnam Pike
    Chepachet, RI 02814
    United States

Anyone else want to tag along? :kona:

Just got an email from the RIDEM about the Southern trails.

"The only vehicles that are allowed on state property are legally registered vehicles. They can only use open roads that are not gated or posted closed to unauthorized vehicles. However, if your vehicles are road legal there are some unimproved town roads they might be useful for your purposes."

He also named a road but on google view it just looks like a dirt road with un developed houses on it.

Since were already planning the trip tomorrow, we will have to save this spot for another time.

I think my next trip out will be with a box of trash bags and doing a bit of a trail clean up. Let me know if anyone is interested in something like that. I couldn't believe the amount of garbage and trash that was out there.

There's always a ton of trash out there. Especially in the sand pit, it's obviously a party spot. Always so much broken glass there
