I heard from a local RI guy that those trails there are hot right now. 11 people arrested a few weeks back. says some of it is owned by national grid which would be trespassing on government property. idk how true all this is but I found it interesting

Ok. I was thinking we could convoy out there but I imagine you'd take 95 east; I take 84.

I saved the routes on Gaia from our run in June. Using the property landowner layer feature nearly all of it is owned by the State of Rhode Island. A small portion is owned by the RI Boy Scouts. I'm not doubting what you had heard, but I think it's misinformation. Maybe locals trying to keep others out.

Fair enough. Being arrested for trespassing seems like a scare tactic to me. But I'm not a lawyer, just a guy on the internet...

more likely there was some sort of underage drinking, drugs, partying, etc. to get people arrested and it just happen to be there. I have no idea, don't know how accurate of an information source that dude was. But I found it interesting because he wanted to go wheeling and I told him why dont we just go there? and thats when he started telling me he wont go there anymore because of this. like I said, I have no idea how accurate all this is.

Yeah that sounds right to me. Thanks for the heads up either way.

I'm down to get out soon. Been spending time in the woods hunting, but with two does down already this year and in the freezer I think I could spare a day to go wheeling.

Anything under the power line is property of NGRID, same goes for the gas line ROW which is kinder Morgan property. It is illegal to travel on either of those ROWs unless you are on a town/ State road.

So the whole section with the large mud pit leading up to the little hill with the gate/ guard rail is trespassing. Same goes for the whole section under the power lines where there used to be the ledge climb.

Traverse those areas at your own risk. The rest of the property is owned by RI so far as I know. But traveling on the power line right of way and gas line right of ways are most definitely trespassing. Take that fwiw, not trying to sway people one way of the other. Just know the potential risks beforehand.

Let me look at my calendar and get back to you. The only question is about the hunters that go out there during hunting season and the aspect of possible trespassing aspects that @Blais03 brought up before. @Bruce988jl , @BadDNA you done for this?

That's the week before I close on the new house. I'm afraid all my opportunities for this year may have run out.

In for RI run on 11/10, we barely hit the illegal areas anyways. If anything we use them to go up like 30 feet and turn off back to trails.
