Now that's the laugh I needed to start the day.

I wonder how much I could charge per day for an "overland" trip?

If you throw in a free patch you could probably charge even more.

So 500$/night, self catered "real back-country experience"? Or 600$/night "try to keep up experience" where they have to navigate too.

Free patch, t shirt and certificate of completion.

    Exactly.

I reality i'd imagine a lot of that cost is insurance related. Looks like it's run by Team O'Neil who have a rally driving school where you can do anything from a single day to getting your full FIA rally race license and tap into your inner Ken Block then promptly wrap your car around a tree going 60mph. But damn, $300 for a HALF day is bonkers.

300$ for a half day, bring your own truck, is bonkers. If they were providing the rigs it would be reasonable.

Depends. In the middle of some Class IV vermont roads? Meh. Middle of the NMW? "If I leave you here, you'll die. If you venture off, you'll die".

1k/day plus an extra 200/night for bear protection.

And they can't even bother to throw in a gourmet skottle cooked lunch, you have to bring your own food.

His explanation of how outhouses get dug was really just priceless, worth every penny that would have been charged for admission :D:D:D

@Spare Parts I saw you posted up in the ENH yota run thread on ENH. I'm not sure the exact route we'll be taking this year @ecgreen has some better insight... But there have historically been stock trucks that did just fine. May not be the case this year, really depends on which trails we take. Maybe get yourself on the waitlist for one of the main fall crawl runs, and wait to hear back from Sean regarding the intended yota run route.

So much stone has been tossed down. Wouldn't be surprised if this year ends up being more manageable for stockers.

As of right now they're both moderate runs. But how "moderate" depends on the route. It also looks like one of the main fall crawl groups may be using alot of the trails the yota run has used in the past. So not sure how that'll effect it either.

I’ll look at it again, but fight my son and his Boy Scout commitments for an open weekends. 3 times this week I have heard, Dad I know you want to go out with your truck next month, but I was just told that on this weekend we have this going on. it’s hard to say no to Scout stuff

edit: but yes, I want in on a stock friendly with hopes of learning to be prepared for more challenges. But can’t afford damages now

What are you up to the last week of October? I have that whole week off and was planning to go south to Uwharrie/Croatan but might end up just getting a better sleeping bag and going north for a few days instead, gets me out and about and don't have to QT when I get back.
