    TRUCK HAS BEEN SOLD.
PM me for any questions you may have!

    Hey all,

Purchased my 2004 Tacoma Xtracab 4x4 TRD Package back in Dec. 2015 after almost a year of looking for something relatively rust free and stick shift. Saw the ad for this and jumped on it. Looking back I am beyond happy with the investment because this truck has been great and has taught me a lot so far..

    Truck as of today:
    04/20/2017

    FullSizeRender-1.jpg

    Plans:

I figured since I'll be keeping it (hopefully) for a while I would start a build thread. My plans are to make it a FUNCTIONAL daily driver and roadtrip/overland vehicle. I have a Tepui Kukenam RTT from my previous car that I plan to put on it.

-ARB Front Bumper & Warn M8000 Winch
-OME 3" Suspension Kit with 882 Front Coils
-Skid Plate and Slider (still deciding on brands)
-Relentless Fabrication Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier
    -ARE/Leer Bed Cap
    -CB Radio

Truck when I purchased it was 100% stock minus the vinyl tonneau cover for the bed and side steps. It had 99,700miles. First thing I did when I took it home was remove those side steps since I'm no grandpa :p:

Started gring down the frame before laying on Chassis Saver. Planning to use my grinder and wirewheel to grind off paint & rust the use a 50grit sandpaper to prep for the paint.

Grinded/sanded as much rust and paint off as I could. Used Simple Green degreaser after and I wasn't expecting it to shine as much as this!

Tomorrow I will be carefully laying on the Chassis Saver

Laid down the 1st coat of Chassis Saver.

It is SUPER sticky stuff while it's wet then hardens to a smooth coat after it's dried up. Took about an hour to dry up. Going to give it another hour then do the second and last coat. Very happy with the result. Stuff is very good at coating any loose-ish rust

Finished the second coat. Very content with the result. Waiting a few hours before putting the bed back on.

    Next stop: lift kit!

Awesome job on the frame! I need to do this. How did you get to the rail with the gas tank in place? Great work man.

Thanks man! I lowered one of the straps on the tank to give me enough lee-way and also moved the smaller black box on top of the tank out of the way to get access to one of the cross members. It's a sweetspot for the rust!

Got her fully detailed by one of the professionals in my area. Wash>Clay Bar>Polish>Paint Seal>Wax

Interior and engine bay also got some love. She needed it! Got all the swirls out of the way that were bothering me

Spent the weekend on Block Island. We took the truck in order to carry things and people around. I fell in love with how functional and convenient having a truck is! Also averaged 19.23mpg all weekend

Truck twins with black extra cabs, 5vz stick shift with a leer cap with bike racks lol. Yours just has half the miles of mine and is in a lot better shape cosmetically. lol. Nice truck - looks like it will be well taken care of.

Replaced the steering rack guide which restored my loose steering back to stock! Gave her the weekly wash and installed my roof-top tent!
