If anyone is free on the 3rd (Friday), a few of us are making a trip to Tuttle Creek for the day. Leaving in the morning and coming back that night. So far have a couple FJ's, a buddy with a 4Runner TRD Pro, and one other. Should be a good time.

GPS shows it being right about 2 3/4 hours to the staging point.

Hey all! I have finally decided to put a lift on my 14 Tacoma. I contacted the dealership about one and they recommended the "Ultimate Truck Off Road Center" in Omaha. Has anyone ever been there or had to deal with them?

    DO NOT GO THERE.

Everything is VERY high priced. Your best bet is to buy online (look for group buys/coupon codes too, that's where you can save some dough) and find a reputable shop here in the area to put them on.

What price range are you trying to stay in?

I know I mentioned it in the thread before, but I'll be transferring to Offutt in a few months (currently on deployment). My wife is staying with her sister over in Glenwood, IA for the time being. We're starting the "house hunt" now; trying to find a place for move-in towards the middle of August. We're looking to rent a 3 BR, 2 BA 2, car garage and preferably with a fenced in yard. Prince range would be $1,200 +/-. Not all that familiar with the area, so looking for feedback on where to look/where to stay away from, and seeing if anyone happens to know of any places that might fit the bill. Bonus would be to have another taco-loving neighbor!

In all honesty, if you plan on being here for at least a couple years... I would almost look at buying. Right now the Bellevue/Omaha area is a sellers market. Homes are all holding value or even increasing. Bought mine last year and values are shooting up in the area. You'll then leave with a nice chunk of equity if you were to PCS. One thing to think about is that the term "Once you get Offutt, you never get 'off it' applies."

I was considering buying (my orders are for three years), but am a little leery. We had good luck with it in FL, but when I was stationed in VA, we took a pretty substantial loss (2008 when the market crashed). If we could get a place that put all the checks in the right boxes, and it'd have to be pretty perfect, I might consider it. I doubt we'll be able to stay in Offutt for longer that one tour though... as much as we'd like to. Have to follow my sea-shore rotation (Navy), and after my three years in Offutt, it'll be back to sea for me.

That's completely understandable. Right now the housing market in the area is EXTREMELY dry. Beautiful house on one of the streets coming into my neighborhood sold in 1 day. We got ours before it even hit the market. The home in our circle we looked at before ours wasn't as nice and still sold quickly. If you were to get a home in Bellevue or Papillion, it would sell even quicker than one in Omaha. The close proximity to Offutt and being a nicer part of town really have a lot to do with it. If you do end up buying over renting and would like a recommendation for a realtor, let me know. The one we went through worked well to our advantage, she fought for everything we wanted and was relentless until that happened.

Roger that! I would really like to stay under $800, but if I have to go up a little that would be fine.

You could easily piece that together I would imagine. There was just a group buy going on here for discounted lifts.

FWIW the market crash in 07/8 brought the omaha market down just below 0 - and that number was significantly influenced by some of the less afluent areas around Rosenblatt and North O.
