Stay out of the "soft touch" side at the Corwin Toyota carwash. The touch free side wouldn't accept my free carwash coupons, so I did the soft touch. FML, it is HORRIBLE. To start off, the spinning death whips got to work on my paint before any water or soap was even applied. Then it doesn't really tell you when it's done stripping your paint so you can go. The rinse and dry cycle are both on the same timer as you leave, so you have to leave at the perfect speed, or you have to choose which you want a better job on. I take great care to avoid hairline scratches, so I was pissed to see what that carwash did to my truck.

Thank god I don't intend to keep this when the lease is up.

I was looking into Owner's Pride when I had my Fusion. I don't plan to keep the Taco, so I'm not gonna spend the money on a ceramic coat. If I feel ambitious one of these days I'll hit it with some Jet Seal and a coat of wax, but the Ceramic might wait till I have the next gen Ranger. I probs wont mod the Taco much either.

Mahoney at Ashland (between Omaha and Lincoln) is top notch with LOTS of activities for kids and the GREAT SAC (Strategic Air Command) museum nextdoor. Plenty of walk-up campsites during the week, but don't expect anything on the weekend during the summer.

Louisville a bit south of Omaha on 50 is actually one of our favorites. They have a brand new water park there as well.

A hidden gem (IMHO) is the Ft. Kearny SRA near Minden/Kearney. It is isolated and usually not crowded. And cheap! There's stuff to do in Kearney, also the Ft. Kearny historical site next door. I used to camp there once a month when I went to work in Kearney. In the fall I would sometimes have an entire lake to myself.

I had a good experience with Baxter of Omaha. They have a brand new body shop in Omaha. They fixed up my WRX like new after a horrible hailstorm, but they did take a long time. Some things were not their fault though--problems getting parts.

Hey I'd be interested in some more off-road info as well. I've read about Tuttle and Bessey, but they're a bit far for me this weekend. Anyplace else worth visiting?

Tuttle is going to be your best bet, and closest. Nebraska isn't very off road friendly. Kansas Rocks is a little more mild but another two hours or so. I will be heading down there the end of the month.

found out a little info on my first truck bot @ southroads toyota in May-'95
    from autocheck report

it ended up in Halsey NE and then Imperial NE
those are quite the distance out there from the east
there was no info after Sept-2oo5 other than a big safety recall
    last mileage recorded was 238,565
it must've been a farm truck out there and racked up almost 190k miles in under 5yrs!

Metal/wood for the garage. They aren't the extra super dooper heavy duty ones, but they had no trouble holding my 210# lardass standing in the middle of a shelf. They could be easily reinforced to hold much more.

Nice. How'd you like it? I've been wanting to head down there. Can you put your skills and truck to the test?

Gottem set up. I guess I grabbed 15 shelves total. I thought I had 12. Not bad for $40 total with two sheets of peg board to boot. Haven't settled on how I want to configure it yet, but that'll come with time. I'm off to see if my buddy's retired k9 can still sniff dope.

It was a blast! My truck is pretty much stock so it def put my truck to the test! It was my first time down there and honestly some of the obstacles are very extreme! Like huge ledges for built rock crawler type obstacles! I had a decent spotter with me so I got through some decent obstacles for a stock truck with no damage! But ordered sliders the week I got back cuz I had some close calls!

250 watts. It's pretty extreme, but I leave most of the hard core riding to my daughters.
