Don't forget about the needle bearing replacement to the ECGS bushing in the front differential!

If you just want to level it, I’d just do a spacer lift up front. It’s very inexpensive. I know some folks don’t like them, but honestly, almost every leveled truck you see on the road is leveled with a spacer. I had one for years with no issues and I off roaded it regularly.

Yeah that's what I am going to do a 2 inch front spacer lift. Which one did you go with? You do it yourself? Thanks

Yep thanks! Might as well do it while you’re getting everything done! Only 4wd though right?

I went with Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners set at 1.5", @HeadStrong Off-Road designed AALs, and Falken Wildpeak A/T 255/80/17. The AAL kept the rake I wanted and the tires are true 33s for another 1.5". Overall, it gave me an affordable 3" lift and better capability on the dirt.

I did 2:1 on Saturday, cost me around 200bucks. 5100 used ( 8k miles) from TW for $150 and 1inch sold steel block $50.
If I don’t like the ride quality I can alway back to stock.

Need a lift? Why do you need a lift? Do you want a lift? Are you looking for a more aggressive stance?

I was considering a lift from headstrong. Springs struts shocks and AAL can to had for about $850 in parts if you go with bilstein and OME. EBach about the same.

I'd have to pay a shop or see if a mechanic friend I know would help me with it for a little cash, some beers and dinner after. I know it's not hard to do I just know I don't have all the tools and skills to get it on my own.
I think I'm going to wait and revisit this idea in the fall. I want to work on some house projects now before I major mods to the new truck.

Over 3 inches starts to get tricky because you have to change more components.

The Tacoma like some other 4wheel drives had independent front suspension. Lift too high and you make it hard to get a good alignment and wear things out faster. They do make aftermarket upper control arms to help with that. I had to have JBA UCA's on my old Liberty CRD because it was 2.5" lift but it allowed the factory angles for alignment. Same deal with the Tacoma if you lift 3" or more. They add $400+ to the cost. There are lots of options for UCA'S with the Tacoma.

So just change the uca’s and 3” is ok? Anyone know if you can get 3 inches of lift with the bp51 kit?
