So, the neighbor next to my house in Washington decided to park his damn RV in front of my house and partially onto my yard. The house is for sale and the realtor contacted me. I contacted the neighbor and gave him until 10am monday morning to move the damn RV or I will have it towed (called like 6 towing companies and none could get out Sunday evening and I have to wait until monday morning). Now, this damn RV has left deep ruts in my front yard. What are my options... do I file a property damage claim with my insurance company and send them the pics and license plate number from the RV and have them tackle it, do I call the sheriff and file some sort of claim, or do I hire a lawyer? Mind you I live about 1000 miles away from the house... complicating things. Also these neighbors are poorer (despite having probably a 20 year old RV) and probably won't get much.

    Any advice?

The damage is noticeable but not "devastating" but I'd really like to hammer these neighbors because of the obvious complete lack of respect for other peoples property and that I've had issue with them before.

You did say they were "less well off" which means they A) Dont have the funds to even bother with responding to any legal action B) Could give a shit. As you have already found out by their lack of respect for others and the past issues you have had with them.

Sometimes you just need to deal with bullshit on your own.

X2. Or ask them to fix the damage they caused and hope for the best.

I'd pay to fix the damage and then file with your homeowners. They'll go after the other insurance..then sue the bums for any deductible etc you have.

Key is fix it fast so it doesn't mess you up selling your home. Good luck man.
