Does anyone have a good mechanic here in Kamloops. Long story ... short, had my breaking system done yesterday and today it fell apart on the highway at the bottom of the hill, explained it to one guy and sounds like caliper (left side front)
I’m in a hotel waiting for garages to open in a.m Anyone got a number for mechanic?? I have a 2008 Tacoma crew cab

Traegermaster posted this in another thread.

I have had work done at Sportsman 4x4 in Kamloops, those guys are good. I have also heard good things about Baja North inKamloops as well.

Alltoy 4wd (250) 851-4480 only works on Toyotas, the mechanics name is Tony. He is fair with pricing and work needing done.
Sportsman and Baja are also really good.

Did the bolt just come out leaving the caliper hanging?
If so, I believe you can use a bolt or two from the tail end wher the tow hitch mounts to the frame under the tail gate. Pull 2 bolts from there and reattach the caliper.

Alltoy is now called Toyoda 4x4 and Tony is the man. People in Kamloops buy old Toyotas because of him but he is in the process of selling the business.

It sounds to me that you are fortunate. This kind of event could easily have ended much worse...

I hope you are back on your wheels soon!

Sorry I'm late to the party on this one, but I have always gone to Tony and he has been unreal. Did my motor on my 91 3.slow and has done all the big maintenance items on my 07. Can't say enough good things about him. I am actually DREADING when he sells... In saying that, Sportsman always has a solid reputation but I haven't dealt with them personally. Baja is great as well, I've seen some really nice work on Tacomas come out of that shop, and most recently Backwoods Offroad. Hopefully one of those guys was able to help you out!
