Need a new altenator for 2006 Tacoma V6 what size is the engine ?

I have a 2006 Tacoma V6 2 wd 4 door engine ID ? V1G - T83F 64 Obviosly several to choose from online .. how do I detemine if it is a 2.7L , 3,5L or 4L engine before I order the wrong altenator

 

Well if you really do have a V6 4.0L

Not sure how this is confusing. Sure you got a V6?

 

Usually written on top of the plastic when you open the hood

 

At this point, just post a photo of the engine bay with the hood open.

no way you have the 3.5L in your 2006.

the only two engines in the 2nd gen Tacoma (2005-2015) from Toyota (excluding any engine swap shenanigans):

• 2.7 L 2TR-FE I4
• 4.0 L 1GR-FE V6

 

4.0 v6 I believe has two versions

one is a low amp for non towing package

the other is higher amp for towing package
