I am looking for a 2010+ tacoma trd sport or off-road. This will be my first truck and have done some research on tacomas. Willing to drive for a good price.

2WD or 4WD? No 2010+ has limited slip differentials, they all have open rear differentials, so if you want rear locking differential, only option is off-road package.

    Just curious, why specifically 2010+?

I would say reliable, not super nice.

Toyota is behind the bell curve on features in their 4Runners, Tacomas, and Tundras.

I have a TRD Sport and consider it to be equivalent to a bare bones model in a Ford.

Have to disagree on the 4Runner. Extremely happy with our '16. Half of these features being put on is shit no one really needs.

    Referring to other brands.

For instance Ford has trailer backup assist. Sorry but if you can't back up trailer you shouldn't be pulling one.

Ford and Chevy both have apps to stay connected to your vehicle. Really is that necessary?

How about a 10 way power adjustable seat?

This is pretty much a "first world" discussion...if you want amenities, bells and whistles, lane departure....ya da ya da ya da, by all means, go with the Fords, GMs etc. (I happen to like GMCs, by the way). If you want a vehicle that's not beeping and screaming at you all the time...but, has a reliable drive-train...well...you've got the right vehicle. Owned five Toyotas over the years...always worked well, but like everything else, stuff has to be maintained... JMO
    Cheers, jeff

Yes sir. Quite a pretty penny to maintain.
But this isn’t just any Volvo, this is a Volvo with a wine-chiller fridge and champagne flutes built in!

Cause you know, base model expectations these days...

Bad enough with the onboard nanny I have with the traction control or seat belt dinger.

Volvo is garbage. I mean they are the safest vehicles out there, they are always broken, can’t have an accident if it’s parked in a workshop

My Dad has a '17 TRD Pro 4Runner and it does have some better features than the Tacoma but only in terms of the heated leather seats and the power seats.

It still doesn't have memory seating, heated steering wheel, Apple car play, AWD selection features, panoramic ceiling, auto back up to hitches, cameras for an 18 foot trailer, integrated trailer brakes, all disc braking, a better transmission gearing system, sport shift, higher class speakers... and I know I'm missing more things.

A lot of these features are standard in other trucks with the same costs as a Tacoma.

I like my Tacoma for a standard DD (although I've spent some money upgrading interior features to include heated leather seats) but it's nothing compared to the new F150 Lariats that are the next truck on my list to buy. I hate the GPS nav in the Entune system. That horrible system I would rip out and replace ASAP.

I had an '02 F250 Lariat and it had more features than my 2013 Tacoma.

Most full size trucks have ventured into the luxury vehicle category on options (especially when you consider you can easily drop $90-100K on an F350 Platinum)... Toyota I don't think will ever allow their Tacoma to reach that point.
